Situations change, especially when promotion becomes a possibility.

 

Not everyone is as intelligent as we all know you are.

 

In life there are optimists and pessimists with not very much middle ground.
People tend to start believing things the more they get told the same thing. It’s called sheep mentality.
I’m not sure what anyone expected of Rupp this season. He says he’s injected 7 figures and I believe them, look at the signings, loan and permanent, they won’t have come cheap.
We are 3rd in the table and 1 game from Wembley.
I’d suggest there are too many people in our fanbase who are in the super pessimists bracket.

 

Yes anyone who buys the ground will pay top whack as they are paying for our past financial troubles. Maybe we can tempt him with free advertising or other perks. Without an alternative solution we are where we were 25 years ago. So in my view would take a financial hit if he purchased it. Maybe we can ask for a much shorter lease with an optimistic view of being promoted.

 

I can believe it too.

1 million investment doesn't necessarily go THAT far for a football club, so it's not like we'd suddenly have a floating stadium or a squad full of internationals lol

I don't see any real reason to doubt the claim, and I'm sure if it were broken down most would accept it too.

 

The rental figure should be linked to the division we are in, that way there is more incentive for Gibb to assist where he can in the hope we rise up some levels to earn him more.

 

I think he said the players who are assets will be given preference and negotiations on their contracts will start much earlier or when other clubs start knocking on the door.

 

I didn't hear it all but I thought Sharpe sounded refreshingly honest talking about the training ground, contracts and costs, although he did come across a bit arrogant when talking about GA in front of him. I also though RS sounded like he's matured a little since last time. All that said these things are always easier when things are going well on the pitch.

 

Why is he a good landlord? He just collects the money and invests it is his family’s pension fund.

 

I am not sure why he would accept that tbh. He is in the driving seat and no amount of sweet talking to him and saying he is a nice guy will make him sell the ground. Cracking investment curtesy of the fans and owner of Bradford City.

Question: How much has Rupp invested in the squad this season?

A politician’s answer. We are still no wiser.

 

I thought he said that 7 figures was the amount Rupp had invested into the club, not just the squad. I also thought he said that it was an equity investment as opposed to a loan, although I can't be arsed listening back

 

I think when both sides of the debate hear that word they automatically think it means the playing budget, so we have some saying told you so and others saying no chance has there been that much of an increase.

I don't think for one minute they meant Rupp has added a million or whatever to player wages. It will be an overall picture. New roof, pitch improvements, I think someone said there was work to be done at the training ground as well—it all adds up. Running a football club isn't cheap, and that's before you include the player's wages!

From the incomings and outgoings at the club, player-wise, I don't see a 7 figure increase. But all in, when you consider off-field stuff, yeah, it's not unrealistic.

 

Yes you maybe right. What is an equity investment? That went right over my head!

 

We got fees for Lewis and Young, and we got a rumored £400k windfall from the kid that was sold to Liverpool. And he has injected 7 figures on top of that?

Into the club maybe, but certainly not the playing budget.

Well the pitch took quite a bit of sorting. That won’t have come cheap.
