Home to anyone, ideally something like altrincham at home. Decent money on offer with 54k prize money for the winner which would make it 90k prize money so far then hope for a bit of luck in the 3rd round draw.

 

Don't care but a home draw against the lowest ranked team would be perfect.

I'm only messing of course, as a City fan of 44years i know the replay is not a foregone conclusion and if we do get past the replay then Mansfield too will be up for it with the carrot of a potential lucrative third round match for the victors
I am mystified by your negative view of the FA Cup though Fordy, you sound like an older fan too? Surely you remember some of the great cup exploits of the past, 1976, Liverpool in 1980, The 2013 league cup run, Tottenham, Everton, Chelsea etc.. Some of my best memories are cup related

Maldon and Tiptree as a first choice. 20 minute drive from my Mum's house. I have never been to Portman Road so wouldn't mind that although unlikely we would progress.
The rest I don't mind at home. Chichester would be a long slog if away.

 

Away to non league, tv money plus should be winning, this competition is all about money generation for us.

Love it when fans bash out prize money like it's going to benefit them.

When you go in to work tomorrow I want you to kiss and shake the hand of the sales people and praise them for the money they bring into the business you work for.

2 of their CBs from the weekend, Omar Beckles and Aaron Pierre, have been called up by Grenada and midfielder Ollie Norburn has also been called up by Grenada.

 

Yes it was mate. I was on about both cups really, we beat Everton as well in the league cup in 88/89, forest away in 1994 or 95 was another good night. I appreciate we all want to get out of this division as soon as possible, but you cant beat the excitement of a cheeky cup run which is also good for boosting the promotion finances . Should always put out strongest teams whenever we can imo.

 

I remember that, wasn't it a rare Stephen Darby goal which got us back in the game?

I don't really want anyone from our division or League 1 as we won't be on TV that way. If we can get a non league side away we have a good chance of a TV tie and the money that brings in, plus a potential new ground to visit.

Knowing out luck we will draw Harrogate Town away, then Portsmouth will beat them. Or even worse, we will get back to back weekends in Plymouth. Imagine that, Plymouth away in the league followed by away in the cup the following week. I'm sure they had that against us a few years back.

 

Not the best draw but at least we're at home.

 

Anyone at home is a decent draw for me. Better than somewhere miles away!
