Feeling much the same, if Shay is fit I think he'll make a bigger contribution than what Doyle did if we decide to stick with the same formation.

In terms of timing and it being the day before a match, we could have sold him during most of the games he's played and not noticed so I don't care that it's the day before a game. More likely to be a balanced team without him as he's not a number 10 (or a number 9).

 

I've defended Doyle all along and do feel in the right set up, that hell score goals at this level, yet having seen him shoe horned into the team this season and having watched him run around like a headless chicken I'm neither suprised or disappointed to see him leave. Someone on twitter posted and I think it's pretty apt: "Never been able to tell if hes on the decline, rubbish or completely misused by BCAFC." For me it's either the 1st or 3rd one. Anyways, hope this frees up some funds for at least another 2 incomings soon!

 

I wonder if we stick with the current system and swap Doyle out for McCartan or if we’re planning to go 442. Either way I can’t see us being any weaker for the change.

He wont be missed if McCartan slots into his best position and he wont be missed if we go 442 as he would have been dropped.

He’ll only be missed if injuries strike.

He has signed for Swindon because of his relationship with their manager. And as just about a month ago they were saying they had no chance with his wages I bet we are subsidising them

Doyle shouldn't of been playing the position he was.

McCartan isn't good enough enough.

 

He's probably happy at any option that got him away from Valley Parade. The move is best for all concerned, the player gets away from constant abuse, Swindon think they've bagged a good player and we've got high earning non productive player off the books. Got to act fast now to bring players in.

No doubt he'll start banging 'em in for Swindon to demonstrate the flaws in our coaching and tactics.

 

Based on what I've seen Patrick isn't that much of a downgrade on Doyle. Both ineffective. Doyle shouldn't of been playing that position but showed last year he cant play as a 9 - atleast anymore anyway.

 

He can bang Jennifer Lawrence for all I care, as long as he is away from VP.

No, for me with that move we need 3 players to replace him:

1 x AM
2 x forwards.

 

Hopefully we get more money based on appearances and goal scored if that is the case.
