Anyone suggesting that was an easy chance (like @Park bantam) clearly doesn't know a great deal about football and had certainly never played the game.

Next time you're in the park, run 5 yard backwards onto a moving ball and turn and smash it towards goal. Then go get your ladders and collect your ball from the tree.

It's a hugely difficult skill to keep those down and even more difficult in matchday circumstances when you're snatching at stuff because you've been completely starved of service for the previous 90 minutes.

 

True I know it was a difficult shot to do as he would have been frustrated at lack of service

 

More emphasis on the suggested Doyle bid due to this.....

 

In truth I didn't think for one minute he would come back
and continue his scoring purple patch.If he doesn't want to
be here I don't think it's in anyone's best interest.

As Park says, his wages are a consideration but if he scores
goals that help us get promoted then keeping him is worth it.

 

If Swindon don't have a recognised striker of note,
then as far as Doyle is concerned it puts us in a strong
position to do a good deal.

 

This is an interesting development. Do we up our asking price for Doyle knowing Swindon's need for him has just massively increased, or do we hang on to him, even though he may not deliver for us, just to weaken a promotion rival?

 

200k fee and he's theirs.

 

Will Doyle fancy a permanent move to Swindon though?. He may decide to weigh up offers in the summer

 

Or we could go to Rotherham and put in a cash bid or loan bid for Yates, loan bid would be something on the lines of they work together, he's getting regular football with a striker he works well with. As well as sending Palmer back. On their forums they can't see where Yates is going to go, as apparently he is well down the pecking order.

 

If that happens, we'll probably send Vaughan to Swindon for the rest of the season and he'll start scoring for fun whilst Yates and Doyle's goal tallys remain static.

 

Except we have 4 strikers here already that we don't create chances for. How would taking on another change that?

Considering he doesnt want to be here and Yates has returned to Rotherham i think its only a matter of time
We dont have the manager to get the best out of him so unless that changes he is better off of our wage bill plus fee
Look at it from Doyles point of view his stock is falling day by day and chances of him getting a good deal at the end of the season diminishing

 

Neither did I hence my arguement to let him stay at Swindon, them paying all his wages/bonuses and hope he continues to help Swindon beat other promotion rivals.

 

I honestly think they will start to drop like a stone. It just depends what we can do ourselves.

I don't think Swindon will finish in the top 3.

Don't think we are in a position to gloat. I can't see us catching them up any time soon. Think we'll drop faster than them unless a major change is made.

Least Wellens got the best out of Yates and Doyle.

If I can gloat at ours I will cry at our embarrassing situation and dreadful football. Starting to turn off from us but it's the love for the club that keeps me going but only just...

It's not even the time and money it's just the dull football and I know we have the squad to do miles better than we currently is served up. It's frustrating!

 

Now that's a good shout! Doyle would be pleased but I think
Rotherham may want him for their promotion push?

 

Agree with some of that. Doyle surely knows he has
to produce to keep his big deal alive at end of season.
