From a relatively impartial view it seems to me that Conservatives have nailed their views on Brexit to the mast. Liberals have nailed their views on Brexit to the mast and the various leaver/remain parties have nailed their views to the mast.
The only party that seems like it changes its mind as often as the weather up here in queensbury is Labour.
I get that people vote one particular party, well, just because they do but I honestly don't see even one particularly redeeming feature of Jeremy Corbyn.
Maybe I'm mistaken but the bloke is massively unlikable, hugely hypocritical and completely erratic in his parties views. Although anyone that holds Diane Abbott in such a high esteem must be just the slightest bit imbalanced.

Several of our MPs scandalously fiddled expenses for years and have never been properly punished.

I must admit, I can’t sleep at night worrying about what might happen if Mike Ashley, Philip Green and Richard Branson lose a few quid.

Now if the UK were to fully implement the new EU Directive 1164, the Anti Tax Avoidance Directive, UK tax authorities would have a right to levy tax at UK rates on these hidden profits of the wealthy and their companies. But of course, we'd have to be a member of the EU for that to happen, It might make you wonder why many of these individuals are such strong and vocal Brexit supporters?Offcomedun, Skyebantam, Nottsy and 3 others like this. -
Corbyns wife ( multi millionaire ) is under investigation for paying slave wages to workers on her Mexican coffee plantations . Not my main point really , all politicians are in it for themselves , all very rich , all money grabbers , all out of touch with the general public . Brilliant isn't it , all the money to be ploughed into various public bodies , all in time for the next GE . I live in a Labour area , its been Labour since the vikings invaded , no investment for years , voted 68% to leave , yet the sitting Labour MP does not recognise the referendum result . The Con- servatives are unelectable yet they will win this seat . The Lib -dems are a joke , most round me work at Sellafield , the new proposed power station is on the back burner . The Lib - Dems have raised objections to a new coal seam ( employing 500 + ) saying they are totally against it . 500 + jobs in my area would be a god send , totally out of touch . This country is at a crossroads which 20 years ago i could not have foreseen , we will never be re- united due to the deep entrenchment of voters ( Brexit etc) . The political ruling class have caused this mess , they dont think the country exists north of Watford , these divisions have been a result of previous governments ( which ever party ) ignoring the north . The genie is out of the bottle , the current GE is exposing many MPs and prospective MPs for what they really are.

Its a dangerous precedent where people are having to justify they are not racist even though there is no direct evidence to suggest they are orher than been thrown in with everyone else. I don’t dispute there are some that will harbour racist thoughts towards Diane Abbott and other black MPs, the number cannot be directly correlated with the number of complaints against these MPs, this can only be done when bonafide evidence of racism can be proved.
My guess which i also can’t prove is that the compaints made against Abbott are more to do with the fact she’s as thick as mince at times.WilsdenBantam, BradfordBanter, Tony Wilkinson and 3 others like this. -

Labour did not almost bankrupt the country. Labour paid back record amounts of government debt.
The global banking crash caused the last recession.
Austerity was a calculated political decision taken by Osborne and Cameron (under cover of the lie about Labour nearly bankrupting the country) in order to smash the public sector as hard and as long as possible.
Every other developed country abandoned austerity very quickly, which is why they all recovered from the global recession years before we did. -
Lots of kids don't have that right now. Lots of the parents of these kids didn't either. So you have kids starting school and they're already miles behind their peers because they don't know about manners and taking turns. They don't know simple things like milk comes from a cow because nobody talks to them. They don't have the patience to listen to instructions or the resilience to stick at a task because it isn't as easy as watching a screen. They can't read body language or faces because they don't get spoken to enough. You might find one or 2 like this in a class or there might be 25 in some areas. Postcode lottery of life. Have you seen the life expectancy of the different Bradford postcodes?
To enrich the whole society we need to make steps to stop this cycle of poverty. New Labour's Children's Centres were fantastic and they've gone with austerity. A generation let down. Knife crime among the young is up and investment in youth services is down. It's all linked. Poverty leads to crime, drugs etc and that impacts the whole society.
There's no way there's ever going to be a perfect world or even a perfect UK but I'd rather at least try to make a difference to wider society.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...BradfordBanter, Rogered Tart, Tolly856 and 3 others like this. -
It’s a poor show when the likes of anti-semitism and islamophobia are seen as political weapons on either side. And they are, by both parties.
It denatures the seriousness of the issue and toxifies the debate to the point of a worthless token that worsens society. A lot of this election campaign has been in that vein and it’s dreadful. I’ve not known an election this bad natured in my lifetime. Either care about these things all the time, or don’t.WilsdenBantam, bantamdave41, Bronco and 3 others like this. -

Granted, there are valid queries about Corbyn, his policies, how he plans to implement them and if his outlook is one that can take this country forward. He certainly isn't the anti Semitic, terrorist sympathising, incompetent fool the press make him out to be though. The U.K. Media, of which the majority is owned by right wing billionaires, simply see him as a threat to their right wing ideologies and there are far too many naive people out there who fall for the bullshit.

Of all the things we need to spend money on out of taxpayers money this is the daftest, They claim increasing taxes on the likes of Amazon and facebook etc will pay for it despite having spent this money in other daft plans probably 3 times over,
BTW, Labour want to remain in the EU and under EU competition law this would be illegal, So a fake proposalWilsdenBantam, Tony Wilkinson, Idlebantam and 2 others like this. -
I vote on what matters to me.... Under this conservative government I have had constant employment, a relatively good level of income which with hard work can improve, my dad received brilliant care from the NHS during his fight with terminal cancer. In general life is working for me and that is what my vote will reflect. Why should I change my vote?
