It's sad that players simply putting in effort is now seen as such an improvement

 

They can put in effort but sadly it's the ability that is lacking

 

Walked into Valley Parade today feeling Religation anxiety walked away thinking we’re world beaters.... my magic powder costs £100 per gram please form an orderly queue.....

 

There was a stark difference with how we went about the game today compared to when we let Barnsley dictate the game a few weeks ago for 90 minutes and never laid a glove on them. There were still shortcomings but it's the first time I've walked away from VP this season and felt like the season might not actually turn out to be a complete car crash.

We're still a leader at the back short but if we can find one and also add a bit of quality in centre mid I think we'll be fine.

I'm actually hoping we don't add a "big man" up top as we'll probably just stop playing football altogether if we do which was evident today after we brought Bruenker on.

 

Up front has been a problem for us since Wells left. Jon Stead being the closest to a decent striker and now we have utter bullshit.

 

Fine? For what

 

Under PP, effort, application and organisation weren't an issue.

That did not mean losing was acceptable.

Those things are bottom-of-the-barrel bare minimum expectations.

Not things to be lauded over and solace taken from.

Expectations are horrendously low if people actually think they are being 'positive' for accepting such things...

 

Positives and effort don't get points .goals and wins do

Spot on mate. People saying don't worry we will be fine .Don't want fine .wanted promotion. Expectations so low now .Edin has wrecked are club.

 

I fear that we've already lost sight of what it means to be competitive.

Hopkin comes in and organises and motivated the team. So what.

Some people are so happy with that that there is no longer any reflection on if we are actually doing enough. It's insane.

Another manager might have done the same, played different tactics and got us winning - but the assumption is nobody could be doing better. We have people arguing our third substitution today made sense. Or that bringing Brunker on is understandable. Or that we're doing miles better despite the fact we have won half as many games as under Collins in the same space of time.

Look, none of this is remotely acceptable.

Its an absolute travesty.

Yeah I'll applaud effort, but let's not lose sight of the fact things have to change in our hierarchy before January or we are screwed.

No more Abbott signings.

No more Edin Rahic.

We are in 22nd place FFS.
