was done by mistake. I was trying to prevent editing on the virtual prediction league forum to prevent stealth edits after the fact. So I went to the node list, clicked on the right forum and clicked the button labelled group info as shown below



There I removed edit from the usergroups which on most software platforms would be fine but what I forgot is XF has the Group info load the master permissions. To only edit permissions on that node you have to click the name of the usergroup. It’s one of the things I hate about XF as it does a few things like that which goes against the norm of forum software (and even its own software) so if you are working on multiple platforms it’s easy to make silly mistakes when you forget the quirk
