Eco Zealots

No matter what my views are, the use of oil exploration will only stop when the world's economies decide it stops, not some middle class halfwits who think glueing yourself to the main road will make the slightest bit of difference. If anything it has the opposite effect of turning folk against what is a good argument. Problem is they don't come up with any alternative that is workable in the short term, especially when growing economies like China and India need those resources.
If these protesters want real change then go after the real perpetrators. Otherwise the real 'villains' just have these protestors on the strings of a puppet master.

 

I explicitly said not this country, luckily for you, so stating you're going to 'keep yourself out of jail' doesn't make any sense considering you're British and living in England.

 

My point was (as you well know and as I posted) the developing countries of this world are basically ignoring the situation with regards burning fossil fuel and can we blame them, our contribution are a drop in the ocean in comparison, I never suggest we should abandon our reponsibilities, so there was no need for your "That is no excuse for us to do nothing", even posting we and other developed countries have done that for the last couple of centuries.

Apologise for what my post was simple enough to follow, why the comment "That is no excuse for us to do nothing" I'll repete where did I say otherwise.

 

It's just off the scale of human decency that anyone should have the slightest sympathy for these eco terrorists ..

 

They don't help themselves at times but what we think is unacceptable many appear to support it no matter of the consequences.
I wonder if Daniel Hooper better known to the masses as swampy has got himself a job or is he still crusading for the cause.

I'm not sure it reflects on this particular article but if protesters are blocking roads and preventing emergency services from reaching people in need then I'd absolutely hold them responsible in the case of the worst happening.

I'd also hope they could be tried in court for a crime linked to any such death.

 

I wish the buggers would go on hunger strike....i'd support them with that ..

 

Seeing as we have no police I would hope that a couple of burly lorry drivers could give the anarchists (nowt to do with oil and gas) a kicking but of course then they would have jobs to lose whereas the loons haven't ...

If the UK ceased to exist, or moved to living out of a cave the emissions savings would be offset by China within a few days.

Developing countries are resistant to green energies whilst they try to catch up with the developed world.

There was a stat that our emissions here in the UK are now actually lower than they were in the 1800s when we relied on the horse and cart.

It's OK to say we won't piss in the pool, but if everyone else pisses in the pool it will make no difference.

 

I read a quote somewhere recently that China has used more fossil fuel in the last 7 years than Britain has in the last 220 years. Why don't protesters concentrate on these figures and see how China reacts?

 

Maybe these campaigners should super glue themselves to a few Chinese bridges and highways.... make a proper statement
