Last session at the bar today. Going for a couple of refreshers seeing as it’s May. The one on the left is a salt and lime lager by American brewer Stone.

 

When I was a salesman for Bass, I got given Exeter and surrounding areas as my patch much to the hilarity of others. I found out why. Most of the places without Carling, were “cider houses”. It’s all they sold! They looked at me like I was mad trying to sell them lager and ale. Proper paint stripper stuff straight from the firkin. No wonder they all talk funny

 

Whatever I'm drinking, it quite clearly isn't enough. I did it again and paid for the bloody game.

Made a cioppino for dinner -- a much better way to pass the time than worrying about City, I must say! -- and so it was/is a wine day:

Don't you just hate it, when the recipe calls for more than one glass to be added to the dish! I cooked a 12h leg of lamb over Xmas, and was sobbing when I poured in the required full bottle of wine That Sauv will go nicely with the shellfish stew. I bet you get some monsters up there!
