Good. Bring him back if only to derail Swindon's season should we both be up there.

I'd be very surprised if we didn't have a release clause that we can bring him back after 6 months, if we got an injury to either Donaldson or Vaughan and they were going to be out a while surely we'd use that clause and bring him back as we have no similar cover.
And yes as I've posted before if he was scoring as he has been since his move to Swindon I'd bring him back and bite the financial bullet even if he didn't play for us again and was sat on the bench.

 

If he comes back and it significantly weakens a rival then I couldn't care less what he actually does here.

Agreed. If it takes us recalling him to knock them out of the top seven and give us a better chance of making it, then it makes sense.

No doubt Doyle would be seething and we'd have to make sure he didn't upset the rest of the squad if he was recalled against his wishes. But let's cross this bridge when we come to it in January.

 

At the moment Doyle's loan to Swindon is financing a decent chunk of our squad so the chances of Bowyer recalling him are slim

In an ideal world we bring him back, add to the squad with some genuine quality and hopefully have a fully confident Doyle in our team causing havoc for league 2 defenders.

January is never that easy for us though is it? Our last 2 have almost made me feel embarrassed to be a City fan.

 

If January comes around and we can move Akpan on then we might bring Doyle back.

Akpan can’t get in a bad midfield at the minute. His days are surely numbered

 

Dont recall him, just make them pay more in January, like udders did to us with Payne.

I know he is helping a rival, but there is more than 1 promotion spot up for grabs.

As someone pointed out previously, his goals might help dent other rivals chances of making top 7, if Swindon are beating other teams near the top

 

Let's hope his red hot form ended Tuesday night when the passenger express faltered badly at home.

An interesting take on this, and almost a positive one.
YES - Doyle is scoring, only for the opposition (in our case), but equally, if he repeats that feat against other rivals, City too, benefit. Here's hoping he finds the net against all 'top ten' sides (and Swindon don't lose), barring City
