    Another football legend with that terrible disease, he says :
    "I recognise how my brain is deteriorating and how my memory evades me when I don't want it to and how this causes me distress in situations that are beyond my control.

    "I do understand what is happening and that is why I want to address my situation now whilst I am able, because I know there will be days when I don't understand and I hate the thought of that right now.
    So sad.

    In the 90's I sat next to Denis at a Sportsman's Lunch which my company had sponsored. He is a lovely man and we had a great conversation about Bradford City and his old pal Ray Wilson.
    George Best was the other ex-player speaking at the lunch. He was quite shy in front of an audience but Denis helped him get through it.
    Altzeimer's is such a sad disease.
