There are five fixtures in December. The last opportunity to put the season back on some form of track. The slender chance of getting into the top seven remains, but if City fail this month, then apart from avoiding the bottom two, there is little left to play for other than pride and the inevitable rebuild.
Three fixtures at home should give us an edge.
Three of the fixtures are against teams below us.
So really this month is a ‘do or ………’ month.

    The fixtures:
    Wednesday 8th December

    • Bradford City V Colchester United
    Saturday 11th December
    • Bradford City V Sutton United
    Saturday 18th December
    • Carlisle United V Bradford City
    Sunday 26th December
    • Bradford City V Harrogate Town
    Wednesday 29th December
    • Walsall V Bradford City

Given where we are at, what are your thoughts?

Why are we playing Colchester on a Wednesday?

Says it all really when nearly 70% of us think we will get one point per match.

Below are two tables. The bottom one shows where clubs were last season after 24 games, which will be the same number of games that City should have completed by the end of December. Only Bolton, who went onto promotion, were out of the top eight. Amazingly they only had twenty eight points, which is four more than City at present. However their run last season was virtually unique, the chances of City replicating it would be virtually at Euro Lottery odds!

    We’ll draw them all 1-1 won’t we :-(

i think we’ll get eight maybe. Beat Colchester, Walsall and two points from the others.

sutton are flying so won’t be easy and Harrogate always prove tough.

I’m just slowly digesting the fact that I don’t think we’ll get any points against Sutton and Harrogate.

If that doesn’t hit home where we are in the big scheme of things then nothing will.

We will have loads of chances miss them all. Same old broken record.

My mrs said at the Scunthorpe game “why can’t we pass the ball to one of our players and we seem to kick it out a lot, we are much better than this.”
I said “don’t you worry these boys will prove you wrong.”
then Scunthorpe scored, I rest my case your honour.

I think we’ll win on Wednesday to take the heat off Adams (and he can say “I told you so), and then that’s it. Perhaps a draw at Sutton.

7 points to keep us firmly entrenched in mid table.

    Can't wait.

Yes we are crap at the moment, in fact we've been crap for about 4 years all told. I predict 14 points from the next exciting looking 5 fixtures. Happy Christmas fellow Bantams xx

I'd take a draw at Sutton, but we have to win the home game first on the 11th.

I saw that and had to recheck the date, I can't remember the last time we played a Wednesday night league game at Valley Parade.

Top of my head, Dagenham after the league Cup final but surely must be others particularly around the Christmas period

I pity the poor souls with Christmas hangovers witnessing the inevitable hammering at home to Harrogate on the 26th

Personally I'm a glass half full man (unless they've already called last orders), so I refuse to give up on the season, YET!
In some ways the present run of results and performances, going back over the last few seasons, reminds me of the years following us missing out on promotion after losing in the play-offs to Middlesbrough. We made some good signings but quite a few not so good signings and had to endure some dire football under John Docherty. My late wife used to get really down about it after each game and I used to try to put a positive spin on things, usually with my annoying gallows humour.
At least in those days we had quite a lot of good old fashioned comedy on Saturday night tv to cheer us up.
