Remember that game. One piece of skill when he received a throw in under pressure from Plymouth players he did a Cryuff turn to get out of trouble.

For me the best player we've produced who actually played a good chunk of games for us. It was a joy to see him bring the ball out of defence. Sure I once saw him in Maestros too!

Used to see him regular Friday night's Dukes and Silks before he broke into first team ,remember coming out to warm up first game of the season and thought oh dear we're in trouble here , soon changed my mind very quickly great defender and tried to help us get to prem with that foul in box for the pen that Beagrie missed
RIP Deano -

Can only echo what's already been said. Lovely player to watch, so comfortable on the ball. A great natural player, made it look easy.

Naff choice of car though!

Great player and one of a few from my old school at Rhodesway. Rolls Royce of a player who was a fan too. RIP Dean.

Remember watching Deano wearing the claret and amber. His quality really stood out. He seemed to have every attribute at his disposal.
It was a pleasure watching him take the ball out of defence and drive play up the pitch. We did well to hold on to him as long as we did. It always surprised me how long it took for one of the big clubs to finally take a chance on him.
Definitely makes my top City 11 without question.
Taken far too young. RIP Deano. -

I remember the clearance he made at Turf Moor when our keeper was beaten. He didn’t just clear the ball, he played his way from near our goal line around their striker and brought the ball out. That was a wow moment and became the talking point of the match. If memory serves me right that was the moment Lennie Lawrence realised he could no longer hold him back. His talent was quite literally way out of our league. If not for injury we are talking about one of the best centre backs England has produced. He was a Rolls Royce of a player, not at the world class level of Van Dijk but Dean played in a similar mode. Fantastic player.
