Given that they are going to end up in the playoffs whatever happens, surely he has as a good a chance as anyone else to get them promoted.

    What a ridiculous decision.

To be fair they should be doing way better than they have been doing getting beat 4-0 by leeds and a draw with bottom of the league. Suspect they expect the auto promotion places.

A good player doesnt guarantee to be a good manager

Agree about the short term deal, I would have preferred it to be longer but understand why it isn’t. The big part of all of this is that whether the deal was short or long, it’s virtually impossible to plan everything on the playing side until we know which division we will be in. Having a manager to fro, the offset naturally helps however.....

To give some perspective the club financed keeping the majority of what is a Premiership squad and as such expected to go back up in the Auto spots, They are worried at the prospect of the huge financial hit to the club if they fail and have pressed the panic

But if he was given the task of automatic promotion then he isn’t going to do it.

My in laws are all Albion fans so I keep an eye on them. IIRC they shifted some of the big earners on, Jonny Evans for example, and the players had a relegation pay cut in their contracts. They also have a pretty full ground each week but the wage bill is huge and the owner doesn’t want to fund it like most Championship clubs need to be, he wants them to be self sustaining, but they’re in trouble if they don’t go up because the wage bill will be bigger than the parachute payments.

I don't mind "former city winger Andy Kiwomya". He gives decent insight, and always wants us to do well. Same with "Former city captain and legend Gary Jone". Always good to hear it from a former players perspective, and always great to hear them both losing it when we score/win :)

More fool them then if they expected a 'Premiership squad' that weren't good enough to stay up last season to be good enough to bounce straight back up.

What happens if the other companies have better products and a more stable management team? They haven’t invested loads in the product

Really? West Brom's squad has the THIRD highest market value in the Championship. The two with higher value squads are Stoke City and Aston Villa, who have both sacked managers this season. The likes of Leeds are seventh highest, Norwich ninth and Sheff Utd fifteeth. West Brom also has a wage bill in excess of £60m/year.

Good stat. However look at those three teams and it becomes clear that you drag down some average players on big wages when you get relegated. If we go down we will have one of the biggest wage bills if not the biggest but doesn’t mean we would be definites to get promoted

Simon " championship manager" Grayson is quoted as favourite.
Doubt he would last a season up here.
