Danny Rowe - The New Charlie Wyke - now with poll

Anyone else bemused why Rowe doesn’t start games? The way he’s performed in the majority of his games he ought to be the first one on the team sheet.

Many of us touted him as the next Wyke and I still think the more minutes he gets the more he will score, he seems to have the ability to create chances from impossible positions.

I’m at a loss as to why he’s started most of his appearances from the bench if I’m honest.

 

Because we've won the last two games he's not started. Donaldson and Cook have offered more.

 

Not in particular no, I don’t mind him but especially against Forest Green we played a high press tactic. He barely moves so I can see why he doesn’t.

 

First sentence is correct, and he has been effective off the bench (even scoring last time out) so it could be argued it has worked well.

Second sentence I’m not so sure, Clayton has played well the past 3 games but on the whole I’d say Rowe is more of a goalscoring threat.

Rowe’s goal per minutes played ratio is the best of our entire squad this season.

 

Neither of my sentences are correct they are just opinions.

 

Your first sentence was a factual statement and therefore was correct, not an opinion.

 

But that doesn't mean it was the reason we won. It could have been a number of reasons.

 

Rowe is great but Cook has been better, lovely conundrum to have. Were it not for Cook you'd start Rowe every game because you can allow for a mercurial talent to not do much else and the rest of the team make up for it, but if you have another player who can score just as prolificaly but also offer a bit more in the build up they have earnerd their place in the team

 

Wasn’t Cook’s biggest fan but he can lead the line better than Rowe tbf. Rowe has a part to play but he won’t win balls over the top and needs a partner I think.

 

I like rowe a lot but i can see why cook gets in ahead. offers a little bit more in his all round game although rowe with donaldson in the 10 would be interesting, as maybe donaldson could do rowes heavy lifting aerially.

 

Who would you replace Rowe for? Him not starting doesn't bemuse me.

 

The only thing I'm bemused by is the fact a few supporters have a go at Danny Rowe's way of playing the game.
I don't want him to change anything in his style of play he's very much a potential match winner.
A fine example was yesterday's final cross into the box which he conjured up from nothing,it was pinpoint and should have been put away at the back post.
He might not be to everyone's taste but personally I would rather have him playing for us than than the opposition even in a cameo role.

 

He just reminds a lot of Berbatov in the way he plays like he doesn't give a shit. Its delighting and frustrating often in the same game and i think with players like that you just have to let them be to an extent

 

I agree with you just let him get on with his game.
If the management deem there's a problem let them deal with it but quite honestly I think T&S are more than happy with Danny Rowe's input from managed minutes on the pitch.

 

Absolutely mate, he's coming off the bench and contributing now he's fully recovered from that cold so I don't see an issue with him. I also rate the fact he had the knackers to come out after the walsall game and admit how bad he actually was

 

I'm happy to have him in our squad. He has the close ground skills to take it on and there is always the belief he will score.

 

Rowe should replace Evans in midfield who offers little. A midfield 3 of Scales, Donaldson and Rowe would offer much more, Vernam and Crankshaw while working hard offer little goal threat and should be on the bench

 

Agree..Evans isn't firing at all and we need more consistency in midfield.

 

Evans does a lot defensively which is often overlooked
