Weren't people writing Cavani off, and then he absolutely smashed the last part of the season, and was head and shoulders the best player - not just in performances, but in experience as well. I think CR will do the same. And despite him a different type of player as he used to be, he's still going to put a lot of fear in opposing teams by his reputaion alone. Will be interesting to see if Ollie sees him as a starter, or an impact player. In turn, it will be interesting to see how CR reacts to that.

As we have seen in the past if someone else wants it Bruno is always willing to let them have it so yeah if Ronaldo demands it he will let him. Mind you it would be interesting to see them share it as it makes it harder to prepare for the keepers as they have two completely different styles

That moment when you find out Ronaldo is rejoining Manchester United and you won't be taking penalties anymore...

If Ronaldo is a forward it makes it easier for me to shuffle without using my wildcard.

My biggest headache is that I went for Greenwood over Fernandes to help the balance of my team and had a plan to get Fernandes in around Game week 15 when Man Uniteds fixtures are immense.

Game over for that plan I think and I'll have to reassess.

Its an excellent signing. Commercially it pays for itself. Emotionally, it'll boost the atmosphere at the ground. In terms of talent he's still a world class forward. In terms of character he may have the same effect on the developing young players as the likes of Cantona did. In terms of inspiration, he may give that extra couple of percent to many other players.

    Its an outstanding signing.

I see see United as likely finishing 3rd though, behind Man City and Chelsea.

I have yet to hear any past player/manager say anything other than a great piece of business, still one of the best players in the world, Roy Keane and Graeme Souness were both saying the same as your above, a mature player, still very fit, financially a no brainer, and what he can offer the likes of Rashford, Greenwood, Sancho etc, not forgetting the emotional effect on fans and staff at Old Trafford.
Very similar to the return of McCall when Geoff brought our talisman back.

Apparently Man Utd have sold over £32m of shirts in first 12 hours with Ronaldo 7 on. That means they have recouped over a quarter of his transfer fee.

Judging by his second goal, he doesn’t look to have lost any pace. Unbelievable player. I can see him playing at the top level until he’s 40.

It's weird because so many of them doubting him seem to forget that goal of his at the Euros against Germany where he headed a corner away and then ran all the way up the pitch quicker than anyone else to get on the end of the pass

As skilful as Messi is he just isn't close to Ronaldo in my book. Doing it in 3 of the top 4 leagues in Europe and then coming back to what is physically the toughest big league in Europe and already showing he will do great just shows his quality. Not to mention he has dragged Portugal up with his performances way more than Messi has in a much more talented Argie side (The amount of times Messi has gone missing in WC matches is too many to count, can't think of a single one even against poor opposition where he hasn't been really poor and overshadowed by multiple of his teammates). Messi spent all his time in a team that was so packed with talent and whose league massively favours attacking players to score a tonne as outside the top 3 (and maybe 1 or 2 who join in each season) is really poor quality. Just look at how many goals the likes of Forlan (27th highest la liga goalscorer on 128 goals), Negrado (29th - 126) , Soldardo (33rd - 120), Kanoute (66th - 89) and Llorente (70th - 88), all who struggled in England. He has now gone to France which is the 6th best league in Europe (behind Portugal) to a team that just throws money round while everyone else is having to sell off their star players as the TV deal collapsing has put them all at risk, so he has taken the easy way out, if he had anything about him he would have held out, dropped his wage demands and ensured he ended up back with Pep

Anyone think he regreta not joining City??? And City regret not pushing that little bit more to make it happen???

Premier League title would now be won and yoid also think a Champions League final. He would almost certainly have been the difference. Be on for a Balon Dor too.

Yes. He was on his way and then Sir Taggart intervened.
