I think the umpire forgot we had used up our review, and bottled it by giving it out thinking it would be corrected after a review anyway.

 

I thought that may have been the case he took a while to give it, Roy was just doing stretches by that point. Australia’s bowler and keeper only appealed to try stop the wide imo regardless of what the commentator said, it will have been more difficult to tell for the other players. The square leg umpire looked sheepish and awkward guessing he knew and was surprised. Alls well that ends well though, just hope it doesn’t happen in the final and effect the result.

 

Good spell for England. Got rid of the dangerous Williamson. Looking good so far, but long way to go. Hopefully when I return from VP, England will be inching close to their first World Cup!

 

At the moment England very much in control, some good bowling and very good fielding.

Absolutely brilliant couple of hours of top level sport. Kept switching between cricket and Wimbledon (not normally a fan). Players at the top of their game giving it their all. Well done England, especially Stokes who changed the game. Special shout for Archer, the pressure on that young fella was enormous. Respect to New Zealand for losing with dignity.

 

How well did the New Zealand team take defeat, as you say the more boundary's situation but also the ball hitting Stokes bat and England getting 6 from the ball, to have hit the bat and gone in one of the few areas that was not covered by fielders and get England another 4 runs would not be done or seen off 1,000,000 balls quite extraordinary game.
