they should be held accountable but that should be through due process and the investigation that is happening rather than leaked bits and pieces being released for a certain narrative

Think I've seen where the enquiry could take up to 10 years and at a cost of up to £170,000,000, waste of time and money, we can't turn back the clock but we have all learned not to trust the government (any government) ever again...should leave it there as there will be many more challenges between now and when any enquiry is published ....

Due process (if you trust it) could take up to 10 years we need the knowledge sooner rather than later
Lessons need to be learned and culprits exposed for their vanity projects
Remember who the experts are at releasing "certain narratives"

And excess death have been WAY above average for months now......and guess what, nobody cares, its never even mentioned.

It's almost like controlling deaths wasn't the main factor so much as exerting and influencing control.

Now we have Matt Wanksock realising that 14 days isolation was a complete over reaction but was reluctant to follow the "science" to reduce it to a level it should have been set at because it would have shown them as being wrong.

So obviously they decided to keep people on overlong isolation (10 days) as not to admit it being wrong, when Chris Whitty was saying there was little benefit beyond 5 days.

Out of interest, does anyone think they are suffering from long covid?

I finally caught covid last July right when it was the heatwave on the Monday and Tuesday. I ended up going to hospital and although I don't think my life was in danger, I was very poorly.

Overnight I lost my near sightedness and it hasn't returned. I've developed Reynaud's disease which it is now being suggested can be a result of covid. I also just cannot cycle like I used to. This time last year I was doing four hour cycle rides and now I can manage two hours at best, I just don't have the stamina even though I've cycled around 4000km since Covid.

You can get long anything following a significant virus. The second time I got flu it was over a year before I was anything like back to normal for running etc and I was in my early 30s. If your immune system is struggling you can get all kinds of add ons. I've had shingles twice following viruses and it's taken months to get right. It's not a peculiar thing with COVID, respiratory viruses can really take their toll. Hope you're back to it sooner rather than later

Some fascinating figures for England, from the UKHSA (UK Health Security Agency), for the 2022/23 'flu' season (3 October 2022 to 21 May 2023):
    Flu deaths: 14,623
    COVID deaths: 10,345
    Cold weather deaths: 5,748

How do they compare to flu deaths prior to covid? Seem to remember the quote of about 25k flu deaths in a bad season so that would equate to same number just spread over an extra thing

For the 5 years prior to COVID, flu deaths averaged approximately 13,500, with the 2017/18 season being the highest at 22,500.

If you have a spare 20 minutes this is a very interesting listen and is very much what many thought at the time of the original outbreak, I've posted before forget about weapons of mass destruction drones blah blah blah just develop a virus your scientists have a enough vaccine/antidote for your population and spread it around the world, much easier and far cheaper.
