Here's a story about karma.

Just over a year ago the kids mum took her 2012 car on a school trip. It broke down on the motorway with 5 kids and a teaching assistant inside, at night, in the freezing cold. Not ideal. Turned out it was a valve at fault of which there are apparently 4 and when one goes, expect the others to go quickly. £800 and a lot of messing about up and down the country later we thought let's get rid of this car and pass those imminently faulty remaining valves on to someone else.

Chopped the old car in for an all singing super reliable Hyundai i30 (2016). Just failed its MOT needing £500 of work plus a further £500ish of advisory work to replace front and rear brake discs.

Keep on trucking.

Sounds like you've managed!! It will keep doing live updates if you go off the map and come back but sometimes it's not totally accurate - it may say 2/3 stops but it arrives and it's slow to update I guess.

Don’t Hyundai cars come with a five year warranty?

That’s true. I think our first i20 had seven years.

 

That's what I thought but we didn't buy it from a Hyundai dealer and the nearest one is 40 miles away. They want to look themselves to see if it's covered by their warranty. I'll argue with them next week when everyone is back in work but not expecting much joy.
