It's probably not accessible for your brother but Rimmingtons in Bradford are doing walk in appointments. The only criteria is that you're over 30.

When I got jabbed the other week the bloke told me they had huge stocks there and invited me to tell friends and family about it.

I've no idea if there are similar sites around West Yorkshire but it's certainly possible although I only found out about it through work so perhaps the advertising of these sites isn't the best?

The population of India is about 1.4 billion. It's not really comparable with the UK in terms of vaccinations. The population of Dehli is about a third of the UK on it's own.

The thing India does have going for it is most of it's population is under 25.

Vaccination rates are a red herring. All the vaccine does is stop those who have had it being seriously ill, it doesn't kill the virus or stop its transmission so all of those vaccinated can still get it and still pass it on.

From that perspective, the biggest danger isn't those who have been vaccinated, but those who haven't picking it up from those that have (and haven't).

If, using your figures, 20% of the population don't vaccinate then that is still enough to cause a major issue for them and the NHS, whilst protecting us vaccinated bods from being ill.

On that front, I've been vaccinated so I am safe from whoever, but those that haven't are still at major risk and that would be 3,000 or more in a 15,000 crowd (if we ever see those again). Enough to make them think twice about attending ?

Just phone Rimmingtons up and they'll give you an appointment time. Go down, fill in the forms and you're in and out in 15 minutes.

I'm not sure if vaccinations are Thursdays only though as it's run by volunteers.

probably because of lower death rate in that age range

The population in India in 1980 was half was it is today. Only about 17% of the population are over 50, and that figure massively drops to 7% being over 60. There is a huge chunk of people aged 26-49 which equates to about 33% of the population. 65% of the population is said to be under 35.

Btw I never said the "vast majority" I said most as in 50.1%

Thats what leads to the pyramid type chart compared to our skyscraper model in the UK.

As the population has doubled in 1980, that puts the majority of the population growth in the under 40s, but that age is reduced as an average when you factor into account deaths since then.

The average age will increase over time as the growth of the population isn't as fast as it has been and the 25 year olds aren't dying off.

There is no one simple way to explain it but the major factor is the doubling of the population in the last 40 years.

Indeed. And that is off first jab data. Once we have enough data from after two jabs, I would imagine that the percentage will rise.

I can vouch for this. I got the jab last Sunday despite being 39.

The guys on the desk were a little bit arsey about it but let us through. I don't think they want it advertising per se but the option is available....call first though.

The requirement to isolate if you've been in contact with an infected person looks like it's coming to an end.

Thank God! Trying to do that in a partially vaccinated population would be like a chocolate fireguard. Another positive sign.

Dominic Raab confirms that the government is on track to end all restrictions on 21 June 2021. Instead we will have "safeguards", such as masks and social distancing.
