What have other European countries done in comparison to the £1.6B.

    I'm interested to know.

Is it coincidence that figures are dropping about 2 weeks since the Rule of 6 was introduced?

Burnley have bust through 300 per 100k today. Bradford is at 170 and 39 Authorities are above 100 per 100k.

Here's a head-scratcher. This study excluded symptomatic patients that worked for the company that was tested. Nearly half (46.8%) of 615 employees of various ages in various locations tested positive and none were hospitalised. Because of fading of short-term IgM antibodies tested and exclusion of symptomatic patients, it is suggested the actual infection rate was probably higher. This suggests herd immunity, which could be why the pandemic in Japan has abated despite lack of lockdown. If so, though, why is Japanese health impacted so lightly by Covid?

    https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.09.21.20198796v1.full.pdf

How is the UK struggling so badly at a cumulative 618 deaths per million while Sweden is unlocked and little happening on 582 deaths per million and Japan is unlocked and little happening on 12 deaths per million?

Is our Southeast doing much better than the Northwest due to more herd immunity from the first wave?

As I said weeks ago the local restrictions are not working and haven’t worked since day dot. Why are we still plodding on with these unnecessary restrictions? They don’t make sense and they clearly don’t work
Keir Starmer even saying it’s not working in the house today

If hospital admissions have been falling since September 23rd, why do we need restrictions? Covid admissions are running under 300 per day and falling. The NHS has 18m admissions each year. That's nearly 50,000 per day. We started imposing more restrictions on forecasts of 200 deaths per day in mid-October - not 200 admissions.

The only thing we seem to be getting or talking about is further restrictions. I can’t make sense of it

I was really interested when Kier started down that line of questioning but in the end I wasn't sure what he was suggesting.

Was he suggesting the lockdowns need to be scrapped, that they need to be enforced more or that we should just go for a national one since so many people are living under restrictions? I wasn't clear on what solution he pushing towards.

He was scrutinising if the government believe it is working? They are in the position to advise if they believe from their data and measures that the cases are coming down as a result of their actions?

I get that. I just wasn't sure which side he was pushing from if the answer was that it wasn't working. I liked the question, just wasn't sure whether it was a line of questioning which was prompted by the measures being too harsh or not harsh enough. I would think that's pretty important if we're saying that they aren't working.

I see your point but it’s really difficult to come back with a further point when the Pm never actually answers any questions

At today's press announcement, Chief Scientific Adviser Patrick Vallance warned that: ‘It’s very clear that [infection] rates are going up - we don’t have this under control at the moment.’ I guess he knows what he's talking about without being selective with the evidence.

Has anyone come up with an explanation yet as to why bars and pubs are now shutting at 10pm?

Is there a correlation between people not following rules the later it is? Or the more they have had to drink?

Given computer technology, then we cannot be far from a situation where the ‘peoples will’ comes into play and every decision can be decided by a referendum! ;)

How do you track that? It’s a right load of old made up bollocks. People just get drunk earlier and now everyone crams onto same train or tube as everywhere shuts at 10

Guessing it's simply to limit the amount of time people spend in them. Don't think it will be anything more complicated than that.
