Tried the German footy a few times and it’s just bang average behind closed doors. May be slightly different if it’s teams we know but it’s just not the same.

Its amazing how much difference the lack of supporters in the stadiums make as a spectacle. I dont think its just because its the Bundesliga either. I think watching the Premiership over here behind closed doors will be just as soulless and boring to watch.

Lets hope not too much of next season is played behind closed doors.

Same here. I’m enjoying the extended break from sport. Gives me a chance to miss it, and I’m not there yet, I might actually enjoy it more when it’s back.

Got to agree with @Idlebantam@Idlebantam and @How@How, football without fans just doesn’t feel right.

Sadly I have to agree, I’ve watched a couple of the German games (and pre lockdown) and predictably it is a shadow of the game as it was. It’s very difficult to get into it. I watched a couple of french games pre lockdown i think one involved St Etienne and they were behind closed doors because of crowd trouble i assume, and they were the same.

I think it will be just the same for the premier league, championship etc. Having said that, i think the fans as a spectacle in itself, add a bit more to games in many leagues in europe with the colour / banners etc than they do over here, so maybe the impact may be slightly less and also it being the leagues we are most familiar with. Fingers crossed that fans will be allowed back sooner rather than later, as it’s no where near as interesting a spectacle as it was. I guess needs must and someone wants the games to be finished, it’s not a decision supporters have had any say in so we just have to get on with it. It’s a step in the right direction at least.

Probably already been posted but finishing Prem League season will probably be a big help to us.

Those who were told to shield can now go out and meet one other person from another household. Feel like we are coming out of this a bit too fast.

If you’re on that list will you be going out?

I notice that those with chronic Asthma are to be allowed out even though the virus attacks the lungs and these are the most vulnerable, I can only assume the the government has not met its target on weekly pension payments saved

That's very cynical but it made me chuckle. ;)

Asthmatics are not in the 1.5 mill of the population in the high risk category of vulnerability; they are merely part of the 5 mill in the medium risk group.

Interesting interview with Peter Openshaw, a professor of immunology, on the Andrew Marr show this morning. On after about 37 minutes if you watch on iplayer.

I'm on that list and I'm staying put.

I hope I'm wrong, but I believe the government has got these recent changes wrong; I think we are on the way to a second wave. My fear is that if it happens and we have to 'lockdown' for a second time, we will have thrown away all that money used to protect jobs, not to mention the impact on the NHS.

Rishi Sunak may have done a good job with his support for businesses and jobs, but the latest decisions (and indecisions) threaten to throw all that good work away.

We should have kept 'lockdown' for a few extra weeks. That would have allowed us to drive the numbers right down and allowed the track and trace system to be fully operational.

I'm on the at risk register , i've been out x2 since the 18th of March , until the NHS say it's OK , it will be the 30th of June before i emerge . Too many " experts " giving mixed messages and generally scaring the public shitless . All my hospital appointments cancelled till further notice , cancer patients missing vital care etc etc .

I just can't honestly work out whether this virus malarky is not as bad or is it much worse than we know, although I suspect the latter...

Why ar'nt the government aiming the stay alert, keep social distancing, control the virus message at the younger end of society they seem to be the section who think non of it apply's to them. If infected it may not affect them much but they can still spread it .
