Are drivers still having to pay a congestion charge if the do as the Government recommend and use private transport rather than public transport.

 

Yes, I believe the congestion charge has actually gone up recently (to cover the gap in revenue from people not using public transport).

But arent the guidelines that you must not visit family in their homes and certainly not stay overnight, or have I missed an announcement?

not defending him at all but a general question who looks after the kids if both parents have Covid 19 my daughters husband is overseas and she is looking after their two children if she became ill they would have to come over here

 

They are guidelines only, The guidelines have exceptions for the care of young children and it seems he was in order following those exceptions to provide family care

 

No, they wouldn't. She should stay at home and certainly not go to over 70's to stay who are in the most danger from this virus

I look at it that we all have license to interpret the meaning of 'stay alert', just use common sense to look after yourself and your family...

Isn't this a case of a mountain out of a mole hill, yes he's employed by the government but hardly a hanging offence, although reading some of the comments with regards his actions he may prefer the noose.

 

And why if they were unable to look after their kids, did they travel all the way to Durham. Surely, the wifes sister would have been better collecting the kids and look after them and let the Cummings stay at home if they were displaying the symptoms. Did they stop for a comfort break en route, for example, what if they had broken down and needed assistance

It really is a belief based political system with some folk on here. It’s not on the same level as the resignations from people simply going to holiday homes. They went there and didn’t move and were separated with family bringing E groceries. Yes by the spirit of the thing he shouldn’t havE done it but I would have done the same thing if it was for my family
