That's one of our regulars. Three ways out of the woods on the Baildon side - over the stepping stones and up past the stables; on to the footbridge and up past the White House; right after the bridge and on past the caravan site to Sconce Lane. Which one did you take?
We did the last one today, then up Sconce Lane, over the gallops, up to the trig point on the moor and back down via Hope Lane and Baildon Bank to Cliffe Avenue. Longer than usual but weather was gorgeous and no social distancing problems.
You can also go down to Tong Park Pond and take the right fork by the woods, go up through Hollins Hall golf course, turn right and then cross Hollins Hill road and down to Esholt, then back along the road, take the field opposite the driving range and follow the river, then up past the nature reserve back to Otley Road/Hoyle Court.
So many different permutations around Baildon.

Down Roundwood, Langley Lane, drop down to the woods then took the stepping stones and walked back up to the Rugby club, through the village and then back home.
You’re right - Baildon is a beautiful place.

I have to check every time - bloody phone autocorrect always wants to change Baildon to Basildon. Drives me potty.

I was born in Orsett - a stone's throw from Basildon, and grew up eight miles from it, in Grays. Believe me, there's no comparison!
I had cause to go to Basildon a couple of times last year. Good grief, what a woebegone place it is. I couldn't wait to escape back to beautiful Yorkshire.

I used to have an office in Barking - there ain’t a shittier shithole than Barking.
Thankfully lived in Farringdon but always glad to feel the train pulling out of KX on a Thursday evening on my way home.

It’s created a number of positives for me. Working from home is great for my work life balance - My company is based near Birmingham. I usually WFH on a Friday but i’m away Monday to Thursday. I’ll be WFH for a while yet but once the dust settles i’ll be doing at least 2 days from home and as a business I expect our running costs to decrease as more people do the same and we’ll have less need for travel. So my travel and accommodation costs have come right down. I’m also spending less by not being able to do much. We’re reconnecting as a family - little things like having an evening meal together every night, at the dinner table have become staple again. I’ve had more time for the kids - i’ve actually found the time to teach my lad to ride his bike, which is overdue. My kids have wanted a dog for a couple of years and we’ve never done it, but on the basis of us having more time at home going forward we’ve taken the plunge - time will tell whether thats a good thing or not!! I’m at the pub less (well, not at all), gambling less - neither of which were a problem, but its been good to have a reset. We’ve sorted a number of things round the house and garden that we’ve been putting off and we’ve made a conscious effort to connect with wider family members we don’t speak to often. We’ve had much more conversation over the garden fence with neighbours too.

Not to be glib, because I know that many people have had severe impacts and had to make genuine sacrifices, so take this in the spirit its intended, but for my family we’ve been very lucky. We’ve had far more positives than negatives.

It’s not really been a lockdown. I drove to my nana earlier to take her some food. Couldn’t believe the amount of cars and people out. I was thinking ‘what lockdown’?

Living in wine country: curbside pickup of wines direct from the wineries, often with discounts if you buy a case (This has always been available, but until now it's been more convenient to just go to the local wine shop)

Discovering new sources for foods: always passed by a small shop selling various meats just outside of the city, but now finally got around to getting meats from them. What a revelation! Grass-fed beef from their own herd, other organic or naturally-raised meats and poultry from small farms across the province, and all excellent. They are a bit dearer than other shops and butchers, but the difference in quality makes it worthwhile. And they do curbside pick-up.

Lots of time to work on one's guitar-playing.
