He gave the ball away a few times but what was more worrying is after his pirouettes some of the passes were very close to "hospital balls" giving the recipient little time to control before he got tackled, I think he needs to play the simple ball instead of trying to play a worldly every ball.

Really, who replaced Donaldson after he picked his injury up at Morecombe, we've had to shuffle Vaughan around mostly with Oteh, hardly an adequate replacement.

 

Vaughan isn't an adequate replacement for donaldson? Come on.

 

And this is the exact reason why Doyle didn’t want to come back!!! Who could ever blame him. If I was Doyle I’d be fuming that my 20/21 season prospects are dwindling every game we play.
I laughed when I saw people voting (on the opinion poll) to say he’d not score a single goal because we don’t play to his strengths - maybe you were right! What’s even more alarming is that Doyle could still win the leagues top goal scorer (at the end of the season) purely down to the fact he was banging them in so well for a side that played to his strengths.

 

He'll increase his tally when he returns to Swindon next week.

To be fair it was obvious we have Vaughan who is on par with if not a better striker than Doyle we couldn't feed him the chances either
Problem has now doubled
Doyle will be fine when he returns to Swindon at the end of the month
Vaughan however will have to tough it out

 

Not in the position Donaldson plays no, totally different type of players, Vaughan feeds off a player like Donaldson even though Vaughan is in double figure IMO he could have had more along side a Donaldson type of player.

 

I honestly think you don't go to games and just wind people up.

The problem many have stated and shown again on Saturday is that our midfield is too deep. Reeves has been collecting balls from our Centre back in the penalty box he's that deep.

So how would Donaldson holding the ball up help our midfielders? Plus we had Taylor and Reeves playing last night who seem unwilling to brake forward. Don't get me wrong I like Donaldson but he is about 35 and not a proven goalscorer. I don't recall him doing a Hanson when he started. If I remember many times Bowyer had him on the left and tracking back.

As for our main AM not being available all season? Take it you taking about Devitt? Well injuries happen.. get over it! We have had both Cooke, McCartan (both better as a AM) available and Bowyer hardly used them in that position.

Bradford City have a manager in Bowyer that's 100% not right for this football club and deep down everyone on here knows it! The club needs to sack him and we need to get the right manager in now. Wasting our time with Mr Bore!

I believe Devitt scored more goals and had more assists than any other midfield player in league 2 in the last 2 seasons, so obviously, he has been a massive miss. Cooke and McCartan better than him?, no way

 

I rate Devitt but Doyle scored 23 goals for Swindon and none so far for us, so it's impossible to say until we see him playing week, week out for us.

Also if a player is injured then tough.. time a solution! It's football!

 

I've balanced views.. when we play well I say.

 

But weve seen, the level of performance players have with other clubs at this level seems to have little to no bearing on what Bowyer gets out of them. On that basis alone, I'm not even slightly arsed about Devitt coming back. Donaldson is probably a bigger miss for the aimless long ball stuff Bowyer plays.
