There are ticket systems that allow you to scan via mobile phones. So if you have a turnstile operator who supervises entry, the hardware cost is zero. It's simply a software cost.

 

But would the club have that many spare mobile phones? If not surely they would have to buy them and therefore there would be cost attached? Unless you are suggesting the minimum wage turnstile operators would have to provide their own equipment to get the job.

That is what I thought but @Glenn Ackroyd just said that that hardware cost was zero, so where do the turnstile scanners come from ?

 

So they just ticked something on a sheet of paper? If so what would be in place to stop unscrupulous people copying the ticket on their phone and numerous people using it on different turnstiles?

That opinion always crops up, but you have to think how many people really want to scam there way into Harrogate Town.....or Bradford City for that matter.

Fact is, l would not have gone without bring able to buy tickets without having to go to their ground. It's ridiculous in 2019.

@Glenn Ackroyd - going back to the e-commerce side of things, a PayPal button may be a way of achieving click and collect, again if its made clear the service won't be available after say 12pm on a match day (or at any time on a match day if necessary).

This could potentially be added to the site, or if the platform in place doesn't allow that, could be a social media-exclusive option?

 

Turnstyle operators can use their own IOs or Android phones that scan barcodes or QR Codes using the ticket app. They simply need to download an app. This is one of many solutions that are available.

 

So to get the job they would need to provide their own smart phone?

The pitch is watered a lot but wondered if this is recycled rainwater?

I am sure there are a lot of ideas that could be gained from the likes of Forest Green in this regard. Eg renewable energy as well as recycling etc.

 

The solution we go with hasn't been determined, but on the separate question, the number of our staff who don't have a mobile phone is negligible and they would be very low cost to provide.

 

I just think it is morally wrong to ask employees to provide equipment needed to do their job. This is generally throughout companies.

It is a barrier to employment that shouldn’t be there

 

At my last company we were provided with pagers so whilst at work we were always accessible, and mobiles if it was your weekend on the rota.

 

Exactly. You shouldn’t have to provide your own IT equipment, what next bring your own pie oven

 

Well in Rahic's time at Valley Parade I was hearing office staff had to provide their own lap tops, can anyone confirm if this was true ?.
