Sort those horrible new seats out in the lower JCT Stand, totally wrong colour and shape and size, they look hideous.

Not sure how it sits using disabled volunteers to clean toilets, my kid brother is part of that team and i wouldnt have him anywhere near them.
Tidying around, clearing the snow when necessary and the odd paint job fair enough but to have them clearing 10000 peoples piss and shit for free is degrading. That should be a specialised job with people getting paid for a proper job

In terms of decorating stairways and concourse etc (going out on a limb here) could we get some local graffiti artists to pimp them up with some City style artwork instead of magnolia? Colourful but City related.

Fanzone would be great but where? Midland Rd closed so maybe on there, could attract the North Parade bars and local eateries, Mamma Mias sponsor so pizzas and curry and other foods? But would impact upon inside sales potentially?

Catering inside needs to be improved vastly. A burger from 'dog burger' van @ Accrington was far superior than a burger inside VP.

More steps @ NW Corner by free school to 1911 entrance to aid congestion as it gets packed there before and after games. There is grass there so wouldn't take much to create a whole series of steps to ease congestion.

Just a few thoughts for now.

But good from @Glenn Ackroyd@Glenn Ackroyd , engaging with the fans.

That has been refused on previous attempts by the safety committee due to the footpath not being wide enough to take extra people at once due to the barrier between the footpath and the road

Makes no sense to me at all. There is congestion there every game which must create a safety hazard before and after every game. There is a bottleneck there at the time which leads to that area being full. They are all trying to get up and down the same set of steps. If you had 4 sets of steps then the same number of people would be able to go in and out quicker. 2500 divided by 2 = 1250 while 2500 divided by 4 = 625, So less of a safety risks I would see?

If each set of steps allow 100 people to go up it every minute and the path at the top can only cope with 100 people a minute then putting more steps in would cause a crush at the top of the stairs as they have nowhere to go.

What needs to happen is people need to be patient

It would help massively if they stopped allowing people to exit the main stand at the north west corner. We (from the NWC) cant go left and through the main stand which would ease it but they can just walk straight into the bottleneck.
Its chaos getting out of the corner, you have people coming left out of the kop and up the stairs, people coming out the main stand to do the same, and you just get penned in.
If someone were to fall or child got seperated, god knows what would happen

They are so cramped and very uncomfortable to sit in with no real knee room, Even Fordy's midget would struggle to sit in them

No the new seats are smaller and so uncomfortable with very little knee room, the back of the seat cuts in to your knees if sat straight

Cheap and nasty would be my view, and having to sit on them every match. Yet another of Edins cost cutting, says it all really and what he thought of the fans. Obviously we are in no position financially to refurb the whole stadium, but certainly when we have the cash we should look to replace all seats including the uncomfortable cheap and nasty variety.

Love the graffiti idea, imagine how much that would grab a kids imagination.

The simple answer would be, after putting in a second set of steps, to put a swing gate on the footpath, between the two sets of steps, that can be closed for a few minutes at the end of each match. People going up the left hand steps would have to turn left at the top and those going up the right hand steps would have to turn right at the top.

It would also stop people from walking down the path from the main stand direction, which just adds to the congestion, at the top of the steps, at the moment.

    Hi,

I've reported this to Paula Watson, Head of Operations who will raise it with the Council. I'll keep you updated.

It is not the seats, but the actual depth of the actual individual terrace row in the JCT which is a big issue. Front to back they are insufficient. We have three who are over 6 foot in our group and there is a regular discussion about how inadequate the design and actual space is.
However to rectify it that would mean removing all the existing concrete and placing new rows. To increase the depth of the row, would mean a loss of perhaps 3 or 4 rows, and if you increased the width of the seats, then perhaps 4 or 5 seats per block. In the JCT/Main stand, then that would leave quite a few displaced people.
The problem arises from the shortsightedness in 1985/86!
I guess it would cost several thousand pounds to replace and is unlikely to happen, unless there was a change in the legislation that the club had to comply with, to get its operating certificate.
Remember the actual ground belongs to the Gordon Gibb personal pension fund. The seats are the clubs but where they are mounted is the pension funds asset.

    Hi,

To clarify, we have engaged a professional cleaner. The volunteers help out in a whole manner of ways. Helping with cleaning being just one.
