Do you have, or have you ever owned one?

If only I now had the time, health and money, I would love a Rover P500 Coupe.

As it is, the only thing I can offer is my 1979 'project' of an Opel Commadore 2.5 Coupe, which was 'written off' in 1978. (The car cost me just DM100 !!) I replaced some panels, rebuilt the engine, and added a 'walnut' dash and door trims. Unfortunately, I left Germany 'expecting' to get married, but never did - so sold her (the CAR ;)) for just DM2,000 ( £525) when I left.
I wonder how much 'she'd be worth now ?

Mine was silver, and no vinyl roof.
    Boy, did she shift !!

I was in Thornton-Le-Dale over the weekend. There’s a museum/car auction type place there, with a right range of classic motors, most are available at auction. I’m not bothered about the Rollers, Jags and Bentleys etc. But there was a lovely white MR2 from the 80s parked up, with flip up lights and crappy plastic switches still intact...I wanted it!

Closest I've probably come to classic ownership was a 1977 mini 1000, drum brakes all round ,10 inch wheels and a drivers footwell like a teabag. Loved driving it but hated working on it which was a frequent occurrence like most classics/old bangers
My dad had all sorts of different cars back in t'day many of which would now be worth a fortune or be considered rare, mk2 jag, Renault dauphin, ford consul (mk1 granada shaped thing wider than a house) to name a few

Closest I've come to owning one is a Ford Capri back in the early 90s. To be honest, wished Id have kept it for the occasional spin out

I keep toying with the idea of reliving my youth and picking up a mk2 XR2 but I don't think I could devote the time.
