That is very sad. They were good fun. I can’t find them and I was following them so looks like that is correct. Are they on here?

 

Saw them post it on twitter, yes. Sounded like it was as much to do with the time constraints taken up from the project too, then they got personal abuse lately which was the straw that broke the camel’s back?

I didnt listen as don’t do podcasts, but i know plenty on here listened - so its a shame they’re calling it a day. Can appreciate it must have taken up too much time - impossible to do when you’ve kids

 

They said 1 or 2 things to Naz Shah on Twitter about her not being welcome to our club and made a libelous claim- one she has sued for before. Tweets were deleted and then this came out the next day. Coincidence????

 

I speak to one of them regularly, there are a few reasons as to why they decided to end their run. It takes up a lot of their time and became harder with work constraints. Not sure they were cut out for the bantams banter style attention either, some folk love doing these fan accounts but these lads would have been happy if someone took over the flag thing.

 

Its a real shame. They seem like decent blokes and enjoyed their content. Very short lived, hope someone else steps up......because all we are left with is Bantams Small Talk now.

 

They're genuinely nice lads. Not sure they realised what it would grow into, there were a few who started to troll them to where it kinda became untenable. Like you said it's a shame because most like what they did, at least they can have a few beers pre game now rather than worrying about those flags or what folk online thought of them.

 

It's a shame that they have called it a day. It came across that the added pressure that comes from having a fanbase might have gotten to some of the lads? There was also a run on twitter where any fan who said anything against what their main account said were blocked, which isn't a good look but also seemingly has brought some personal attacks on the lads online. Crap that this seems to be the norm for anything Twitter based, just has a portion of keyboard youths mouthing off under anonymous handles, but that's social media these days.

They weren't the most natural podcasters in the world, but I liked that sometimes. Think the thing they'll be missed for the most will be things like the flag displays and organising things that connect the fan base to the players on the pitch that extra few percent more than normal. We haven't had that fan to club connection working as well as it did under those lads for some time, shame if all that now disappears.

Why would people troll the main account in general? Too positive? Too negative?

Twitter is a toxic hellhole, promoting anything there is a mistake in my opinion. It's just so unlikely that you'll get a fair and reasonable audience, and it's not down to age in my opinion. It's almost geared to rewarding incendiary or aggressive garbage.

 

One particular account that had a problem with them was/is pretty much a full on troll account which saves tweets to use against the posters of these tweets in the future. Even posted a fake screen shot to make it look edited. Once it got like that I don't blame them for walking away.

 

Pretty much twitter in a nutshell Jon. I go on for a laugh, there are some genuinely funny people on there. But in the main it's quite a worrying place if you analyse the stuff posted.

 

Supposedly the new logo is an 'X' which is hilarious to me, as that's basically a cross which at school just meant 'incorrect' lol

Not sure I believe it though, most likely attention seeking.

 

Their and anyone’s biggest mistake ……Using Twitter as one of their major media avenues, and as a result engaging in issues that cease to become “ Banter” .

Imho their sole platform should be YouTube.

I came off Twitter for my sanity well over a year ago, and boy do I feel better for it. Faceless , cowardly nobodies who wouldn’t say boo to a bloody mouse in the street , whose sole aim in life was to seek attention. ( Like some close to home perhaps?)

Shame I thought they were reasonably decent and a different take on BantamsBanter.

Is that the tweets that didn't age well account. The moron was called out on Saturday for posting about people without tagging people in to defend themselves shortly after the City Vent announcement. It seems this moron can give it but can't take it and hasn't posted since.

 

Yeah that's the main one. I've got a feeling it was another twitter poster who previously caused trouble under another name. The people behind these type of accounts must live really miserable lives.

I used to be on it quite religiously and have since moved onto threads. I only go on twitter now to see transfer news and the #bcafc timeline as threads doesn't have hashtags yet.

twitter now is a complete hellscape just full of abuse. even going on it less has has made me feel better!

 

I am on Twitter and you need all your wits about you. I am finding it hard to strike a sensible debate. I am going on less and less. I haven’t thrown the big red switch yet but it is coming.

I always without exception ignore and block anyone who is abusive. I am not interested in their views. The @BCAFC hashtag I tend to use on match days. Can you go on and read even if you delete your account?
