City fans on vacation Central & Eastern Europe

Went to Riga for my stag do several years ago - loved it!

 

As long as its all friendly. We all have varying opinions on City and life in general.

 

Of course it’s friendly, now frck off and mind yer own business

 

I'm not here to entertain but to educate where required, it takes a while with some but I'll get there .

 

I went for the Christmas markets and I completely agree, it's a great place.

 

It’s on the bucket list…Try Bratislava or Budapest too!

 

I've been to Budapest, I stayed on the river in the "Boatel". Another great place and as it was years ago it was also cheap as chips.

 

One of the most amazing places I've ever been. The architecture is to die for.

 

Favourite city I've visited by some distance.

 

I didn't see much of it to be fair, it was a stag do so most of the time I was just looking for the next bar!

Can we discuss the delights of Amsterdam rather than Budapest in the Walsall match thread please?

I’ve never been to Budapest.

 

I was there just before Christmas, the wife likes the Christmas markets, I like the arcitecture, the perfect storm.

May I also recommend Vienna ?

 

Definitely. I’ve been to both and much preferred Vienna.

Out of those two cities, I agree. I've often thought that if there has to be death, then there should also be reincarnation, as a Viennese. I did enjoy the one underground line in Budapest though, where the trains run on tracks (like tanks) rather than wheels. The sound an approaching train makes is rather different!

But if we're talking Eastern Europe, then it will probably be no surprise to anyone that I strongly recommend Tallinn. The mediaeval architecture is amazing, and original; the museums and galleries excellent.

And if one is already in the neighbourhood, then why not catch a ferry for a day trip to Helsinki as well.
