Chris Short says it as it is...

There were fans questioning our fitness even when Allenby was here, its one of the 'go to' excuses when a team is on a bad run. Short, like other members of staff that have come and gone under the Rahic/Rupp tenure may or may not have been a success at his employed role. But as you allude to there are ways of dealing with staff on a personal level. It seems a culture of fear and intimidation rules the roost at Valley Parade these days. Nice words from Short about the club though, thats how you put your point across, honestly and respectfully.

 

Absolutely. I'm not disagreeing nor definding it. I think we can see what effect it has had. But he is the way he is, IF he can find someone who can work under those circumstances, then we have a chance of seeing an improvement.

My point was more than some people seem to try and make it more sinister than it is. Just come out and say Rahic is a (insert expletive) and that's all there is to it. No need for all these Chinese whispers.

 

However, the fitness coach that everybody lauded was at the club when Mr Rahic took charge, but obviously saw what Mr Parkinson saw, and did one rapidly.

I agree, theres a lot of smoke and mirrors at the moment. One things for sure i wouldn't work under those circumstances. Mason left because of it and McCall looked a tired and beaten man during the second year of his second spell. Guys like that and the aforementioned Short deserve better than that, i don't know Short but Mason and McCall are two of the nicest people you will meet.

We have never looked as fit as we did under Nick Allamby ever since he left we've looked slightly jaded..

However that's not really the point and I guess if Edin is having a say in the fitness sessions this again points to him sticking his oar in where it's not needed. He really doesn't help himself.

 

But we were fine for the previous 50+.

 

Wether the players were fit enough or not is largely irrelevant - it’s another to add to the lengthy list of people Edin has pissed off and forced to quit. This has gotta stop.

 

So by your logic any owner with a reputation should be given a wide berth, yet Dave Hopkin is happy to work along side our basket case.

This is NOT about whether Chris Short was a good enough fitness coach, this is about how you treat people in general and especially ppl who work for you. What came across to me was the lack of respect for experience Chris had in fitness and coaching. As @Plastic Bantam has stated why was he yet again interfering with fitness. How would he know or is he suddenly an expert in that now as well!

Here is a list of excuses that Edin apologists have put forward for the state we are in.

1. It is all rumours
2. Ex employee revenge
3. Racists
4. It is ex managers fault, players fault, etc etc.
5. No evidence of anything untoward at VP

I tend to believe if it looks like a rat, smells like a rat, moves like a rat, then it probably is a rat!

 

50 + games ...

 

I was talking 50+ games not minutes, no one mentioned our fitness levels when we were winning and climbing the league.

 

Its the old excuse i highlighted earlier “lose and its fitness to blame.” As you say, nobody complained about the fitness levels when getting to Wembley.
