That I do agree with even accepting that we should have got something from todays game, obviously with it not being streamed we don't know just how bad the misses were but Raynor said two of the three Tyrek missed early doors were sitters, but then again sadly Tyrek is not renowned for his goals, no excuses as our Captain said in his post match interview, we need get back on the training ground and get it sorted.

Without having a pop we where always gonna go into this season with a lot of league 2 players in it ............unless we had a hell of a budget to the replace them players this was always gonna be the case.
Thats why i think that the start we have had has supprised me and if we do have a drop off then i wont be shocked either.

 

By the sounds of the comments from those who were there it wouldn't have been a problem to disallow the goal and make Cheltenham take the free kick again, very controversial even Steve Cotterill saying he'd be annoyed if he was Graham Alexander.
Not sure if we can contest the red Alexander got but from those commenting it was poor from the official in charge.

But this is an facup game that has potential for a big money game, which allows for replacing the league 2 fodder
Clearly GA doesn’t value it, as vast majority of clubs don’t either these days

 

From what I have read on here tonight, it appears Cook is piling on the pounds again.

 

The red card in itself for Alexander is meaningless in terms of disciplinary as they don't come with an automatic ban like a player red card does. He'll only be given a ban if he is charged with misconduct and accepts the charge or is found guilty. If he was to be found guilty he would most likely get a 1 game touchline ban and a small fine.

 

Sadly, Cook needs moving on in January. He’s a busted flush

 

I get that but feel from the comments of those who were there including Steve Cotterill the referee screwed up and then didn't have the balls to admit it, unfortunately when you confront an official you run the risk of some sort of disciplinary measure against you.

It sounds like it should have been disallowed and replayed the set piece. But at the end of the day we had another 88+ minutes and 28 shots on goal to correct it, but we just weren't at the races in the final third.

Rightly blame officials as and when we can, but nigh on 30 efforts and no goals, we could and should have recovered this one.

Even if he does end up with a game touchline ban it shouldn't really have much impact, he can still do the team talks in the changing room so the only impact is that he can't talk direct to players on the pitch. It is one part of Alexander that does concern me and I said it a few times last season that when he feels a decision goes against us he focuses too much on the referee during the match rather than focusing on the players. I can remember the Swindon game last season that he spent most of the match complaining at the 4th official and if you are doing that then your full focus isn't on the match. I do feel that is must be distracting for the players and it feels like it feeds into a culture of blaming others which is why I really liked Power's interview.

 

3 goals and 1 assist in 297 mins of football after 9 months out? Doesn't sound washed to me.

This last month has basically been his pre-season, he's still getting up to speed but has a good assist in the Rotherham game, good spells in others too. Should have scored a header against Lincoln really but just a good reflex kept him out. Everyone had an off day infront of goal today, but Cook has looked far from done in his cameos so far.

 

Wow. Was there today and Cook was doing everything you say, laughably so imo, and more than the nonentity that is Swan
