Not sure why you keep mentioning about players like Thompson and Marshall player many more matches like it’s a bad thing, surely it’s a positive if your best players in a position can play every game? Lee Angol has a very good goal to game ratio but it’s useless most of the time it’s irrelevant, if anyone thinks Vernam had the quality Marshall did in his second season with us then I’ll just have to presume they didn’t watch any of the season and use BBC stats to judge a player.

 

It's not football manager. It's not just about stats. Look at contribution in games, how they play in real life, fit into style of play etc. Next season I am sure Pereira will do more than Vernham. He is at Championship side Luton who would like to keep him. That's a bit more than a U23 side

 

Without doubt his short time under Hughes showed us just what the lad was capable of, I wouldn't accuse him of playing for a move, but agents do have a way of doing things behind the scenes.

 

I believe most saw the guy had potential on his day he could rip defenders a new one, unfortunately under Adams they weren't often enough, against Stevenage he was outstanding but on the night most of that 11 showed what they could do.
Roll forward to when Hughes took over not merely getting a start but actually making a very positive impact, without doubt I'd have loved to keep him those last few games wetted the appetite for the coming season but he made the decision to move nearer home a league above us and more than likely for more money, good luck to Charlie but IMO that comment from the club was way over the top.

 

Can we have certainty of a whole season fitness from a player like Eisa who was out injured most of last season.

 

Yes Vernam has 8 goals and 4 assists this season. Eisa in his last season with Scunthorpe had 9 goals and 3 assists so just as effective

 

It would be bad if he had signed for a rival,but i don't think he can stay fit for long enough

 

He's nowhere near the quality of Vernam give your head a shake man.

 

How do you know he is.Vernam has done very little in his career Eisa is a decent player who we haven’t seen properly yet

 

Eisa I couldn’t comment on and not sure how anyone on here could either way tbh, unless we have some avid watches of Scunny. If he’d not got injured all season he’d have a similar amount of career games played as Vernam at a similar age, there is probably something there we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully his injuries are behind him, because regardless of stats players become less and less important and useful if they spend half a season out(or more).

 

I agree. When I saw him play for scunny. he looked good. Last year even the pie vendors pulled a hammy. Give him a season and let’s see.

Big loss imo, Hughes knew what he was getting with him , it appears was finally getting the best from him (making him one of best attackers in the league) , and wanted to keep him.

Will be harder to replace than Paudie and personally I don’t feel confident the Chapman signing is an upgrade, Shrews and Burton are both pretty shit in L1 and he has been released by Blackburn. Doesn’t strike me as a cv to go mad over.

 

As I indicated earlier , this deal has been completed for at least two weeks if not longer.
