Personally, I put that comment in the same category as the previous one which expected the club to be in the Premiership within 5 years with ticket prices of only a pound a game.

Remember Ipswich had to sell out after getting themselves into nearly £100m in debt (to Marcus Evans largely) . He sold the club for a mere £40 m to US investors/ speculators who then sold 40% of ownership to other US investors for a mere £105m which bankrolled their Prem bid .

When we went in partnership with Woodhouse Grove I would have thought the club would have had to given a commitment that we will use the facilities for X amount of years, but as you say Rupp may be worth £100m but to build a brand new facility would take a huge commitment from him although I recognise he wouldn't personally finance the new facilities.

Now if I was a potential buyer I’d have bought the club when it was in league 2. The cost if we reach the Championship will be many millions more than it is today

Oh, Dennis….did you assume I didn’t take any of that into account?

Granted, minimum solidarity payments have increased by £2m since these financials were submitted in March time. That said, the more money we generate the better chance we have, right? Not exactly! We already know this.

Hypothetically, if we’re a Championship club next season, I would estimate our turnover to be somewhere between £25m-£30m.

For the players and fans - NO

I appear to have ‘ignored’ Fordy - I’m guessing his posts still hold little substance?

Some fans were frightened of L1 football. Had us down for a relegation scrap. Its the mentality...

It's all gone quiet from Rupp on the purchase of the ground, or building of a training ground which he mentioned at the forum. I think it's pretty safe to assume we'll sign another lease, but will that put off potential new owners? The new lease has to have a buy back clause inserted.

Too early for the club how Fordy? Whats the aim in season 1 if we go up, survival? I wouldnt say its too early for that adventure. The squad would obviously need some major upgrades but the extra income the Championship brings would aid that.

I wouldnt expect us to go up and be competetive. That would have to be a mid term plan.

I think someone has locked him in a cupboard and stolen his login.
Either that or he’s had a brain transplant.
Two decades of relentless negativity can’t just disappear on its own, can it?

Fair play to him if he’s seen the light…..The “testing” period hopefully won’t be encountered any time soon!

Totally agree. Not sure what we are supposed to do. Not compete so we don’t get promoted? Or maybe say to the EFL sorry we can’t accept promotion as it is too expensive? Refuse to be promoted?

If we get there and then get relegated the season after, it doesn't matter as long as we cash in on being in the league and also cash in on playing big teams

There's some daft prices in the champ. It was in the news a few months back that a few MPs want to get the £30 away fans cap introduced into the EFL. It's already in the PL.

I think they can selectively charge too? So for the Sheffield derby games, both clubs charged away fans just under £50 a ticket but charge everyone else way less. West Brom, Coventry and Birmingham do it for all their derby games too at £45. From memory of the news they said only 4 or 5 clubs averaged away ticket prices below £30 a ticket in the Champ last season.

I know it's early days but Wrexham have bank rolled their way to the Championship but are currently struggling.,having won just three of their twelve games. Sometimes it can be too early and could lead to a spiralling decline once again if mismanaged.

They’re 16th, 5 points off the relegation zone and 5 points off the playoffs and in the 4th round of the cup. Considering where they were 3 seasons ago I wouldn’t class that as struggling tbh. They’re 5 points above Sheffield United who were recently in the PL, going up leagues too fast has nothing to do with it.
