It's my 3rd Civic wouldn't buy anything else other than a Honda

Plenty of them round here, horses that is!

 

I had a sapphire , remember them? , booted mondeo, personal ownership and a CC normal mondeo. Good at the time but looking back........Meh!

 

Room for a giant chub as well.

 

Had one when I joined a new company while waiting for a 320, thought it was a booted Sierra though.
Had a lot of Fords over the years, mostly company supplied though had a couple of Capris I actually bought.
Now I'm retired a few years so an A3 for the dog transport, Mrs IB has an A1 and I've an old TT quattro roadster in the garage.

Nice, like Audis but I always thought they looked basic inside, but quality.

My order is a leap into the unknown but hey you only live once . 4p a mile compared to 15 p a mile and upwards for an I..C.E and no tax.

My neighbor years ago traded his Reliant Robin for a Lada Riva, It was like he had won the pools, "Top of the range " he said showing me it even had a Radio!!! How times have changed

 

Fords for 15 years from new both company and personal. Repeated breakdowns and same part failures throughought . Bought new VW’ since. Not one breakdown . Alike? Not a chance! Just got a brand new electric one 3 weeks ago. More or less drives itself . Stunning! So that’s my experience . Comments backed up with ownership.

I think it's a Passat, isn't it? Much bigger than a Golf. Same size as a Passat and an Audi A4.

 

I'm going to have a right old moan about new cars. I had a puncture last week. Obviously no spare nowadays just a compressor and a can of white gunk. Pumped it all in. Inflated to 2.5 bar. Flat again in under a minute. Rang the RAC. Unless you are on a motorway orin danger you have to go online to book a call out. Another 2 hours for him to arrive. 20 mins to fix. Got home 4 hours after I set off on my half hour journey. Rant over

 

I believe the Golf, Octavia and a few Seats share the Golf floor pan.

My new VW car floor is being used in the new to be released Seat and Skodas . I think it started when VW took over the two others and used the Golf MK 7 as the platform.

I also checked ALL three new EV’s are built in the same plant in Germany. It’s called the “glass house”

Same cars, different styles , different materials but the mechanicals are identical

 

I'll take your word for it. But the Octavia definitely feels much more like a Passat in size than a Golf. The boot is absolutely cavernous - bigger than a Passat or Audi A4. It's the main reason I bought it, because I'm often lugging lots of music gear around and the Octavia swallows it whole.
