We were in a similar position around this time in Stuarts first season in charge of us, I seem to recall we signed Lee Bullock in January and our midfield got a bit tougher and gave the defence some more protection. I wonder if he might be tempted to do something similar this time, albeit hopefully not Lee Bullock again.

But yeah, if you wanted to trust your team to youths, you could have a team of lads under 22 and your salary cap would be nothing. There were a few chairman slagging it off publicly, but not many voted it down....

The problem is Mcall wouldn’t know a good player if it hit him in the face - lets face facts here - he gave DMH a contract - I rest my case.

 

When he offered DMH a new contract did anyone else thing it was as a squad player, but not one we’d be calling upon regularly?

it’s worrying that we have loads of players like him - and BRE, Sutton, Donaldson and Guthrie - that shouldnt be anywhere near the starting XI, yet we are now banking on them for survival.

We need a new skipper who influences play and leads on the pitch by example, a goalie can’t do that from the sticks 30 yards back.

 

Tell that to the likes of Neuer and Lloris, you know the last two captains to lift the Champions League and World Cup.
