They are currently in the North West Counties League Premier division, having just missed out on promotion. So, as @Tony Wilkinson@Tony Wilkinson states, they are at level 9.

What did for them in the end, was having to play around 10 matches in the last 20 days of the season, as the ground they were sharing became unplayable for much of the season. Back at Gigg Lane, I would expect them to get 2 or 3 quick promotions, after that it becomes a bit trickier, as they come up against other clubs with money to spend.

We need to get the main stand operational by the first league game of the season in 3 weeks as under north west counties rules you have to have at least 3 sides open .
I am not sure what works are required - all the aesthetics from a fan point of view are done, must be some more technical safety things that are required now .
Vandals were in causing trouble in the intervening years and of course anything of value was removed by previous owners
But I am confident we will be fine . Hopefully the game against PNE gows without hitch today and the council / police will allow us to increase capacity limits .
Then it will be just down to the boys on the pitch

    Morning all.
    First league game is tomorrow
Just to update you on the Bury situation.
We finally got the news on Tuesday night that we could fully open 2 stands ( the 2 that were partly open for our game with you )
That gives us 5500 spaces .
So thanks again for helping ito make this possible .
We still await what we will be allowed in the main stand ( yes the game is tomorrow ) but will be very restricted - think in the hundreds .
We have 1500 season tickets . General tickets went on sale Wednesday morning and as of last night we had sold 2600 .
    So over 4000 total on.
Whilst we might not make it anyway and it may not be possible because of capacity we will be heading towards the NWCFL agate record of 6023 ( ironically when FC United of Manchester played at Gigg )

Going to be some party - just hope it all goes well on and off the pitch and that plenty come back for future games

Agree it has been well documented on BT about the way they were going as a club, once again it will be the fans who suffer at both Bury and Bolton, we've been through similar and you wouldn't (well most sensible fans wouldn't) wish that on any other clubs fans.

EFL regulation 12.2 covers such a scenario; it would be a reduction in the number of relegated clubs.

EFL regulation 12.2 is absolutely clear that it is always a reduction in the number of clubs to be relegated, rather than extra promotion spots. However, I have also seen comments recently, attributed to the EFL, that suggest they may promote an extra club. It may be the media getting the wrong end of the stick, but I would put nothing past the EFL.

The Football League have a lot to answer for FPP my arse, it has been well documented on here and in the past on C&B that the owner could not carry on signing expensive players it would ultimately wreck the club.

My mistake, I thought it was the guy who financed the club and the big money signings through his own finance company .

He has being having a go at the EFL because they won’t cancel their debts. He brought the club for a pound but purchased some debts as well

Three deadlines for Bury's owner, Steve Dale, to produce the relevant paperwork (re funding) this week. If he fails to do so, then:
    1. Today - Next Saturday's match against Tranmere will be suspended;
    2. Wednesday - the currently suspended League Cup match, against Sheffield Wednesday, will be referred to the competition's management committee (effectively they will be thrown out of the competition).
    3. Friday - Bury will be thrown out of the Football League.
Announcements, regarding the above, may or may not occur on the same day as the respective deadline.

I assume you're referring to Jim Bairstow. He had previous as he'd owned Brentwood, pumped some cash in (by way of a loan), then when they weren't promoted to the Southern League, pulled the plug and sold the ground for housing.
Back n those days when WHU were away I used to go to Romford, our big games were always against Chelmsford.
    Up the Boro !

Yes indeed. My Dad was fuming. I don't think Chelmsford ever recovered from the episode, although they aren't doing badly at present. They have one Billy Knott in midfield. My brother goes to see them quite a bit. As a hobby he reports on local non league (and occasionally league) for local community radio station Phoenix FM.

As touched on in earlier posts, the EFL have confirmed what will happen if Bury are expelled later this week:
    • Only 3 Clubs to be relegated from League One
    • Still four Clubs to be promoted from League Two
    • And:
which may leave the door open for Bury to rejoin the EFL, in League Two, in 2020/21 (although it could be further down the pyramid).

I have my doubts about Bury being allowed to rejoin in League 2. If the EFL do as they threaten and expel Bury, Bury will automatically lose their 'golden' share in the EFL. Without that they couldn't be a member of the EFL. And without membership of the EFL, they'd have to start their comeback lower down in the pyramid.

One thing I don't understand is who currently owns Gigg Lane. Two or three seasons ago, prior to Dale getting involved, the then owners (both property developers!) took Gigg Lane as collateral for the loans provided by them to fund the promotion push. I don't know whether they now own Gigg Lane or whether it is still in the ownership of the club or whether Dale has squirreled it away somewhere. I suspect who owns the ground will have a big sway in Bury's future. As @Allotment Bantam@Allotment Bantam posted, the only good thing is that irrespective of who owns it, the ground has already been registered as a Community Asset.

    Totally agree @Edin Nowhere@Edin Nowhere
The Nevilles or anyone else would be mad to prop up Dales reckless administration of the club.
Despite the PR from Dale I suspect he's no intention of selling and will asset strip the carcass of club before disappearing in to the sunset.
The EFL need to strengthen the rules around ownership and give themselves the power to step in and take action when they can see the mess clubs like Bury and Bolton get into. Even if that involves taking over the running of clubs.
It amazes me how the EFL just sits back and let's this kind of thing happen.
