He was on radio leeds/ifollow and he was honestly about five times better than Andy Kiwomya. As good to listen to as Matt Kilgallon when he was injured a while ago. Good knowledge.

Pleased with what I saw and certainly a big step up from the Barnsley (and from I’d heard about) the Southend performances.
What does worry me is although we seem to have a lot of players we very much lack strength in depth.
Up front is still the biggest concern. Nice to see 2 up front which we’ve blatantly been crying out for. I thought Collins had a unnecessary snipe about just going 1 up front in previous games when he was interviewed on the pulse after the game, so no doubt we’ll be subjected to that still a lot this season. Thought Miller played well, Doyle seems to be trying but not getting too much, were blatantly not playing to his strengths yet. I didn’t understand why MC took off Miller and brought on Gibson. Payne may have moved central but Gibson isn’t good enough and consistently gave the ball away. Although I don’t rate Bruekner at all he would have given a presence up front to try and hold the ball up. As such we did zero up front the last 10 minutes and instead just invited the ball to keep coming back as nobody could hold it up other than Scannell. We need a decent, physical forward who can do that as inevitably we will concede late goals if we simply try to hang on.
Other than that much happier driving back home last night.Botswana Bantam and Damo like this. -

Burton got a solid 1-0 win today against an in from Donny side. Add to that they won 2-1 in the cup midweek away, maybe they have found their feet this season?
We know from past experience they are gonna be solid and set up well and hard to break down. I can see a 0-1 win to Burton. We don't look like scoringBronco likes this. -
Lost all interest in attending this game, not worth the hassle trying to get an early finish to be let down by players staff and owners who frankly only care about their hefty wages. The signings of Scannell and Payne lifted my summer blues but it's not been enough.

I said before today’s game that losing to Barnsley was one thing, but a chasing from Southend would be another. And of anything, today’s performance was even more one sided than last weekends no-show.
More of the same on Tuesday night will bring Collins and Rahic under ridiculously early, but self inflicted pressure.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Bronco likes this. -

Let's not forget, Burton have started poorly after being relegated. They're hardly going to be brimming with confidence.
The key will be organisation, discipline, and desire - and without the first two, and a sense of understanding, you won't magically create the third.
There's not long to instill that which was missing these last few games...Storck likes this. -
Five family Birthdays to consider, starting the 25th (Saturday), in just 13 days. I am committed to attending three.
And yes, Storck, just as you have other things on your mind (Hope all goes well ) so do others. Football is no longer a do or die past time.
Like you, I also see 4 points as a bare minimum - But if it stops the rot ..... I'll take two Draws right now, to steady our ship.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Storck likes this. -

(We also has Reeves to come back from injury, who’s a CM).
Also to say it’s a mess of recruitment is laughable, considering the reception of the 15 signings we’ve made in what’s been a busy summer.shoatsy likes this. -

We had the same problem trying to fit McCarten in the side, admittedly, McCarten is probably nowhere as good as Payne is supposed to be.RonnieBrown likes this. -
