Anybody remember the FA cup game where the goalie nutted Joe Cooke as he stood in front of him impeding his kick at the Bradford End and got sent off.

Picked myself out in the crowd, my daughter who was 17 at the time, next to me.
Do i remember Graham Tomlinson also scoring a overhead kick at Millmoor, or is that just the memory playing tricks.

No, but I remember "Robbie's Rocket" at Millmoor when Robbie James almost burst the net with a shot.

I was there in the Bradford End, lost a shoe in the turmoil that followed. Some right characters in the Bradford end at that time, anybody remember Plank.

Aye, did he not have long very thin , shoulder length hair. Mate of Andy T and Pete N.
Pete lived on street above and my mate and good friend married his sis.

Bannister formed a decent partnership with Graham Oates prior to his move to Bristol Rovers. I think this played a part in convincing Bristol he could form the 'smash & grab' partnership with Warboys.

Another aspect of this transfer that always comes to mind was my first experience of City getting decent money for a player then wasting it on players who seemed good signings on paper but just didn't come off. Colin Hall (Forest) and Terry Owen (Everton) who some on here will remember.

Can't believe no-one has gone for Wayne Jacobs against Preston!

Typical City... first ever game on Sky Sports and the fog comes in so hard no-one can actually see Wayne Jacobs of all people getting an overhead kick

I remember that game. Didn't Jakes score both goals ? Not that we could see them in the Kop.

I wasn’t there sadly as we had moved by then. Away from footy Pete was a good lad. He lived next door to the corner shop on Holywell Ash Lane when he lived near us.

He did yeah, his first was just before that one in the clip... my uncle went all out and got Sky Sports especially for the game - we all piled round and couldn't even see anything in the second half!

I believe it was the old City player Jock Whites shop ?.
The game in those days could bring the worst out of fans.

Yes I remember Jock in the shop . Always always wore an immaculate white smock . It was Shearer I believe , not White Dave ?
