    Madness.
Brexit is going to happen. It's not going to be reversed. The only sensible course of action is to accept the extension and gain time to properly negotiate a good compromise deal.
It's blatantly obvious that the government is struggling to provide a halfway decent virus testing and track & trace system to avoid a disastrous second wave of the pandemic. All their energies should be focused on getting those sorted, getting plentiful PPE and getting people safely out of their houses and back to work. Brexit is an unnecessary distraction from that overriding duty. Brexit can wait it's turn.

And after this extension there will be another reason and then another reason, The EU are determined to keep us in and will use any reason they cannot complete the process, Only devout remainers and numpties cannot see that,
Despite what the ones that want us to stay say the EU really fear the consequence of one the worlds biggest and vibrant economies competing on its doorstep

The Brexit negotiations have nothing whatsoever to do with the Virus , David frost is the man doing the deals . Brexit will be done long before Covid 19 goes , yet another EU money grabbing scheme to prop up the failing ECB , they are panicking because as the 2nd largest contributor to the budget the burden will fall on the other 6 that do a nett contribution not the other 21 who take but not give .

Of course, we don't have to buy EU goods as they don't have to buy ours, simple trade and economics that are alien to the thick loony left......money and the desire to keep your own people in jobs talks in the end..

4 years next month and still no nearer extension after extension, as you say the EU are happy to play the game.
I'm not sure why the pro EU MPs never voted for Mays deal they really did screw up, then they could have gone back and just accepted whatever Barnier and his crew offered.
Let's be honest the Lib/Dems didnt acknowledge the referendum vote, the Greens were pro EU along with the vast majority of Labour MPs and also many Tory MPs, yes there would have been a anti democracy cry from the brexiteers but the way around that was Parliment and MPs have the final say it's a Parlimentry democracy were we told.
Bad move remainers, and once the clowns took Boris's bait and went for a General election, thinking many leavers had changed their minds or so we were told every Thursday night on Question Time, they got if wrong the first time round and then did it again.

That's paranoid nonsense. We're leaving. They can't stop us.
Of course the EU doesn't want a big economy on its doorstep undercutting them. Why would they give us concessions to allow that? If that's the route we want to take then we have to accept the tariffs and customs checks that go with it.
Jesus. Why are you still fighting the Brexit campaign? You won. Move on. We're leaving. Everyone knows that. However much they are appalled by it I don't know a single Remain supporter that thinks we will overturn the decision. Delaying it a bit while we concentrate on the more pressing issue of Covid 19 recovery isn't going to change that. It's just sensible.

    https://www.itv.com/news/2020-05-27/eu-open-to-two-year-brexit-extension-says-michel-barnier/

Just when you thought it was all over :
In a letter to the Westminster leaders of the SNP, Lib Dems, Plaid Cymru, SDLP, Green Party and Alliance Party, Mr Barnier said the option of an extension to the Brexit transition period is available if the UK wants it.

Why would we want another extension Boris has made it clear come the end of December if a deal has not been reached we go WTO or that's my understanding, you couldn't make it up, 4 years and counting......

The EU getting desperate, They have written to all the MPs who voted remain urging them to campaign to accept a extended transition period, EU still trying to influence the UK and its democratic vote to leave,
They really are now scared to death

Yes he wrote to all the non entity parties who were against leaving, he doesnt seem to get the fact that the Tories have an 80 + majority, can Bernier sink much lower, desperation tactics, keep exerting the pressure Mr Frost.

As long as they don't stop car manufactoring in Sunderland as was first predicted if it was a hard Brexit I dont care, especially after this pandemic settles down British jobs should be every UK citizens goal.

The EU is doomed to failure , they are now breaking 1 of their own core rules " not to interfere in the internal politics of any state " . Just end the negotiations and walk . The EU dont understand the concept of democracy , this is proven time after time after any vote in member states they dont like , vote vote vote till they get the result they want . 50 previous referndums , 49 re-runs till victory , 1 defeat, the UK , they underestimated us once again .

The news on the future of Sunderland's Nissan plant isn't as rosy today. If we don't agree a trade deal with the EU and revert to WTO rules, the plant is described by one of Nissan's head honchos(rather than local management) as 'unsustainable'. That will be the reality of a hard Brexit for those other businesses who export to the EU.

The Lack of a deal may well influence the future of Sunderland but not as much as the French Government who own 15% of Renault who in turn own 43% of Nissan, The French government has huge influence and are passionately nationalistic, If demand falls and it is a choice of making French carmakers redundant and the demonstrations that will produce or moving production from Sunderland there is only one winner regardless of Brexit

Didn't we hear these kinds of comments from many foreign companies in the build up to the referendum, it was only last week that Nissan were saying Sunderland was safe deal or no deal and it would be Spain where job losses would be.

Not sure Nissan will be happy with this news : https://news.sky.com/story/boe-governor-bailey-tells-bank-chiefs-to-step-up-plans-for-wto-brexit-11999578

I didn't vote for brexit for the idiot idea of inviting 3 million extra people here.

We are already one of the most over crowded countries in Europe and we are already struggling with our infrastruture.

I voted for a controlled immigration system this is nothing of the sort and the tories will pay for it with they lies.

Looks like we are heading in the right direction in either a limited deal or a no deal exit, This would be the best outcome for the UK and produce future deals in our favour
