    Tasers are often inadequate and against an assailant with a gun, they are useless. Unarmed officers stopping a drug marked car is a regular occurrence but from personal experience I know allowing them to stop a car with potential firearms on board is a big no no.

    Handcuffs seems a bit harsh. But the police problem now is, damned if you do, damned if you don't - especially when its a black guy involved.

    ps what was the car? Couldn't work it out. Looks like a big Merc SUV?

    my reading was that they have been cloned recently and had the marker attached. Otherwise he would have been stopped previously.

    Also, do garages have access to police markers on registrations? If so it defeats the point a bit as owners would be able to find out that police were tracking them

    Apparently he has a private plate so that would have been put on after purchasing the vehicle from the garage, so can not see how any blame could be attached to the garage

    Exactly. As I posted earlier, there are things in this incident which just don't add up for me. I hope that if BRE does make a formal complaint, the incident is investigated thoroughly. There is something which isn't right.
