Just cutting their teeth in the music industry early 60s, believe it or not Helen Shapiro was top of the bill when The Beatles made their first appearance at the Gaumont only being one of the support acts.

I saw the Beatles with Mary Wells as support.

    1964 when I was 11.

Not really a Beatles fan though.

The councils statement would be comedy gold if they weren't actually being serious. Refuse to divulge then when an investigation basically calls them out they say they welcome an investigation. Utter fools being paid way way above their payscale.

they may welcome the investigation as they know it will back them and force everyone to stop asking.

I think that will be their thought process. What the ICO decide is another matter, they are an unpredictable body

I can't see anything coming from it, we already know how utterly incompetent they are and that's with an inquiry.

I honestly don’t. My initial thoughts are that the company have paid to walk away but I want to know if the council have taken a low offer just to get some cash in now

Reported in the T & A that the council have received just over £5m from the NEC group. I would read that as, broadly, that the NEC group shafted the council. No doubt there are lessons to be learned about the initial procurement and ongoing contract management.

Did some work in Bradford Live a few days ago, the place looks really nice inside, they have done a decent job. That said, I did spot a menu in one of the bars and the prices are a bit mad, £7.70 a pint, £2.50 for a bag of crisps, £35 for a bottle of wine! I know these prices are probably in line with other venues but I can’t see people using the bars much, which is a shame as there are 7 of them!

I went to see "The Fast Show Live" at Bradford Live last night. It's a nice venue and it was a great show. It's expensive which I guess is the common factor in these places so having a few beers before hand is probably a better call. I think a Two pints of guiness and a Madri cost £25. It was safe to say we didn't go back for another drink in the interval and instead popped to the Exchange after the show instead.

I hope it works but I didn't feel that wow factor there, to me it was good for what it was and I can see how the bottom end will be good when they remove the seats for certain shows.

As for the fast show, it was fantastic but I guess you have to be of a certain age to remember it going out in the 90s.
