They missed a first class Right Wing Back Rick, that lad who looks like the Predator from Walsall couldn’t hold a candle to Neufville .

    Every home game is massive.
It's the home form that will define our season.

Supported by a point or two away. The Northampton forum is worth a read re their performance yesterday. Their centre forward is Wheatley that kid Walsall loaned from Man U when they lost Lowe …..he sat on the bench most of the season and appeared only 4 times .

I noticed on a couple of occasions at least, where I thought Walker should have come out to the edge of the box to claim the ball, but stayed on his line leaving the defender to clear. Whilst we don’t have the speediest of central defenders, he needs to be on his toes to sweep up behind.

I wasn't overly impressed with any of the back 3 tbh but they're all brand new to not only the system but also new to each other so with that taken into account I thought they actually did well to limit Wycombe to just 2 or 3 big opportunities.

Yes he nearly left Tilt stranded on one occasion. That’s his real weak spot , compared to some keepers the higher up one goes.

Agree, both Wycombe fans and I believe their defence was shocking, especially their captain , but as you suggest it’s early days for all sides.

We've needed a bit of a hard bugger at the back for a few seasons. Kelly is sort of like that but Tilt should be a level higher at the moment.

We cant be trying to play with three Beckenbauer's at the back. We need someone who isn't afraid of getting stuck in.

Absolutely agree. A more meaningful stat would be possession in the attacking 3rd or touches in the opposition box but even those are meaningless of you aren't actually getting shots away.

1.69 seems low given Sarcevic's header was 5 yards out and the keeper made another point blank save. I'd have expected over 2 given those chances plus others.

Interesting how they calculate xG. I'm sure theres reams of info on it but I can't be arsed going through it. Presumably the header was virtually a 1 and the point blank save chance is the type that is missed more often than we realise. Even making a decent connection can easily be messed up. Maybe a 0.6. After that, I'm not sure if we had anything that clear cut. Pointon's goal would be pretty low xG - he took it well.

The rule doesn’t actually say clubs have to have a plain back. It says the number must be readable. Sparks or someone else at the club has completely misinterpreted the rule, and now we’re left with terrible home kits.

I mean, what is wrong with this I have no idea - perfectly legible:

I thought tilt and wright were excellent Pennington was steady but tilt covering left bk shows a good understanding

wright handled Udoh very well otherwise than the goal he’s a very tidy player but wright kept him mostly quiet

max power was commanding at times in the middle and never stopped communicating reminded me f Gary jones

Flash scores has 0.14 xG for Pointon with 3 shots (2 on target) so very low

Were you ok with an attacking midfielder starting as our centre forward and Bobby getting a start?

I agree. I'm surprised by the number of people on here who thought our back three were excellent yesterday. They weren't in my opinion. All three seemed pretty lacking in pace, the wide pairings of Pennington/Neufville and Tilt/Touray were fairly easily played through in the second half when Wycombe started to play, and Wright was nothing like the dominant presence I hoped he would be. They were fine in possession and it's early days for sure . They'll certainly improve but there are some early warning signs there for those who are prepared to see them.

Watched the Stockport/Bolton game today, and neither kits had a plain panel at the back.
