Doesn’t bother me one jot…It’s pretty meaningless.

This is from a Wycombe fan on their forum relating to a BBC comment.

“ If Wycombe had actually got a penalty they would have passed it back to their keeper “

Boy did that make me chuckle ….quite apt Tony ;)?

I hope it was just that ref, or him over playing his rulebook, but the whistle blowing was terrible yesterday.

He blew for everything and even if the team still had the ball, he never gave the advantage to let the game flow. He blew for 36 fouls, also there were 3 offsides. Even taking out stoppages for corners and goal kicks which are natural, there were 39 times the officials had to blow. I know some are genuine and needed, but at times yesterday it felt a farce that every touch was a foul and no play was carried on. In 2024, the average L1 game had 55 minutes per 90 of the ball in play, if 35/40 times a game there needs to be an officials blow, it's going to be a poor product to watch.

That was against the lad with legs made from paper mache though. If he'd actually stayed on his feet just once the referee might be more inclined to think he'd been fouled.

Touray and Tilt did a good job on what was a very dangerous player.

Tilt has his limitations of course but he’s no mug. The lad you refer to Dave , on their right, just gave up and resorted to trying to buy offences from Tilt going down at every opportunity . The one in the first half on the dead ball line , case in point, no way would any ref give that as a pen.

I thought he was dire until I saw that it was in fact Fred Onyedinmaa who is decent at this level and realised that Touray and Tilt had managed him in such a way as to make him really ineffective. It was a really significant feature of the first half.

As you suggest , he’s dangerous if one lets him be so. Standing off against a tricky opponent doesn’t work , straight in no messing , just don’t give them space.

Wycombe players spent a lot of the first half waving their arms in disbelief and slapping their hand on the ground every time they were muscled off the ball so clearly they'd have liked a bit more whistle from the ref. I'm sure their fans had the same complaint. Another example of the ref not being able to please everyone. I thought he was fine.

Going on what I've seen in pre-season and today I think we will be near the top for fouls conceded. We have a few players who like to go in really aggressive and get tight like Tilt and Power so will naturally be at more risk of conceding more fouls. Also looking at Power he looks like he one of these midfielders who had the ability to commit a lot of minor but clever fouls that don't get noticed so he can get up to 5 or 6 before even getting a warning.
Looking at the position of the fouls we only made 1 or 2 in our defensive 3rd, I can see us being one of these teams that annoys a lot of fans especially away from home

I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but after several seasons of being told we have to have a plain back on our shirts, Wycombe turn up with unreadable numbers and names on a check background.
    How is that allowed?

Wycombe forwards hardly lacked pace and we did well against them, the only poor defending was when we lost the lad Udoh but it was a great ball and great take by the lad, maybe Walker could have done better but he hit it with some force.

Plus looking at that still above the referee didn't look to be in the best position there were players between him and the lad who shot.

I recon this was mainly down to us scoring both our goals so early on, if those were the stats at 0-1 down I'd be worried!

Anyone watching Stockport v Bolton. Is it just me or do they both look significantly better than Wycombe?

Yeah, none of them look as good as us though. Nearly half an hour gone and neither side has scored yet. Pathetic ;)

Bolton definitely do but they are favourites for autos so no surprise.

Maybe it’s just how we nullified Wycombe. I always think any team can look good when allowed to play.

City had 19,604, with 580 from Wycombe. So 19,024 supporting City.

Udders (the dogs) gate was recorded as 17,062. Not sure that Orient took 2,500 which is apparently the maximum number of away supporters. Anyone got a detailed link.

Only Cardiff (and then only just) with 19,615 had a larger number of sold seats (specific term to avoid real attendance)!

Whatever the actual performance on the pitch, the owner, the CEO, the manager, the stadium, the training facilities, Bradford itself, then Bradford City is one of the best supported teams in League 1.

Through years of adversity, and the Bradford pessimism, something is going well, to attract such a level of support.

Long may it continue (and to grow)!
