Fair enough, I thought he was absolutely class today. Fantastic upgrade on anything we had last season.

 

Another great shout . I didn’t realise he made so few league appearances ….For anyone!

 

Spot on…..100% agree with everything apart from the Midland Rd catering which I can’t comment on. The refreshments in my Dutch home were decent

Just seen the highlights and it could easily have been 4-4 today.

We are creating some really good chances and I really like the look of Humphreys. Who drops out when all are fit?

Pennington was excellent in covering RWB when they had the ball. Think Tilt is just the muscle in there to kick the shit out of the oppo attack as he just launched himself at everything. Wright won just about every header and isn't afraid to tackle either. Lots to build on though. Watching other L1 highlights we did good today in all honesty. Every player 7/10 minimum.

Some of the defending eg Plymouth was laughable.

 

I don't think Jamie asked him.

He did ask him about signings and he talked about outs and ins again. Gave the impression that he'd like a couple more though.

 

Pleasantly suprised today against a side well battle hardened to League 1.
Prior to the season I had fears of Max Power being Josh Wright MK11, I'm pleased to say that's been overcome

Oh god no he's a world away from him. Pretty assured start and seems a strong communicator

 

I obviously know that now I've seen him live, but it's been a nagging doubt over the summer

 

Had to check around 13mins if I was or not!

 

I thought it was a good opening game, the 1st half was better than the 2nd half and we let them back into the game. Both sides could have had at least 1 or 2 more with both keepers making some big saves.
I was really impressed by Humphreys, 2 assists, 2 very good saves from their keeper to deny him, rounded the keeper twice but unlucky he went just too wide, a lot of good hold up play and lot of good running off the ball. If he can perform like that on a constant basis the Kavanagh and Cook are going to struggle to get starts.
I was surprised we didn't make more subs and considering Alexander mentioned about wanting to have had more pre-season games it makes it even more surprising. I can understand why he didn't want to bring Metcalfe on for his debut in a game like that but I was expected at least 1 of Richards or Halliday to come on to slow the game down a bit and a bit of fresh legs

 

Last season Salford at home took all my strength to get myself out of the pub to go watch our opening home game.
Roll on 12 months a great performance against a team that may push for the playoffs with a great attmosphere thrown in.

Very early days but i think we will more and hold our own this season.

 

The one sub he did make I thought was a bit uninspiring. Tyreik Wright did not do anything of note when he came on apart from one run at the end. A better bet might have been to bring Swan on and move Humphrys to the left.
I thought we could have done with Lapslie's energy in the last 10 minutes.

 

It seems Joe Wright is the player who’s split opinion today, I’m in the very good camp. Admittedly it was more judging the first half as it’s not as easy to keep an eye on the CB’s in the second half from the lower kop with all the bodies in the way at times. Plenty to be positive about, but I’m still glad to hear Alexander wants one or two more quality players to improve us further.

 

They've got a brand spanking new training ground as well.

 

Enjoyed that today. Humphries looks a handful.

 

Good result and lots of positives. New boys largely look good and fair play to Leigh who had a good game.

Neufville very good and Humphrys has that x factor which any side needs. Could easily have had a hatrick today but can see him being really good for us.

Pennington and Wright solid but neither blessed with pace. I would like to see Walker start higher up and come out more because I can see other teams exposing the lack of pace and a keeper who doesn't want to play the sweeper role.

Not particularly impressed with Tilt. Looks like a player who has a brain fart or red card in him at any minute.

 

Happy also that City got a win after the minute's applause for @wetherbywhaler, Rest in Peace Roger, hope you enjoyed that one.
