Andy Cook. What else can you say?

 

Because it's been absolutely superb so far but I don't believe it's sustainable or that this squad is really top 3 or 4 material.

Hope I'm wrong but a solid top 10/12 finish would be my guess and also a very good season.

 

Great to see Cook back in action. Fantastic goal scorer. Hope this puts to bed the nonsensical debate about whether we are a better team without him.

Natural goalscorers are a rare commodity.

 

The way the game was when he came on suited him perfectly with Grimsby sitting back so he didn't need to do much pressing, he could stay around the penalty area and as the penalty area was crowded crosses into the box were going to be the best route in.

 

I think the next 3 games will show us where we are, Doncaster are looking strong then a back to back games against Huddersfield and Cardiff who are looking the favourites for top 2. With 2 of them being away it will be a big test with our struggles away from home over the last 12 months.

 

Overrated this scoring goals lark...

Grimsby were utterly awful weren’t they!

Didnt have a sniff until Tyreik underhit his backpass and sold Hylton short. Was never a pen IMO!

Their keeper pulled off two decent saves first half and our shooting was well off throughout.

it was a poor City display really, very few were better than 6/10 tonight.

Thank god Cook stepped up!

 

Not doubting ACs ability to score but he came on against a team sitting back, 10 men and from league 2. Not going to be the norm so context is needed

 

Correct, it is. Been out for 8 months, not even a reserve game, 25 minutes in and scored 2 goals.

 

Pretty sure we’d have beaten both Northampton and Peterborough had Cook been playing, those types of games are the ones he excels in
