    So, as we are about to embark on another EFL (Vertu) Trophy season, here's the prize money on offer:
    • EFL clubs' participation: £20,000 per club
    • Group stage win: £10,000
    • Group stage draw: £5,000
    • Round of 32 win: £20,000
    • Round of 16 win: £40,000
    • Quarter-finals win: £50,000
    • Semi-finals win: £50,000
    • Final win: £100,000
    Winning every group match and going on to win the Trophy will net the winning club £310,000 plus, in the later stages, there is the potential for some decent gate money to be added in.

    Given the strength in depth of our first team squad, I expect to see a strong line up for Tuesday's match.

    As a decent L1 side we could every chance.

    Doesn't pique my interest, but I'm almost expecting us to do well given the last couple of years.

    All the squad need game time. We saw the impact the bench made yesterday. So for that reason and that reason only, it is important. That said the semi final last year was some occasion and who has ever complained about playing at Wembley?

    In it's current format (with under 21 sides included), it is not a competition that excites me either, but I do recognise that the prize money is, at our level, worth having and it does offer competitive football to those players who need the extra game time (that we used to get from the likes of the Central League matches).

    We have a few players coming back from injury and this competition offers opportunities for some game time for them. Tuesday night will be too early for the likes of Calum Kavanagh and Neill Byrne, but Andy Cook is getting close and I wouldn't completely rule out him making an appearance on the bench for this one.

    As it is on TV, I assume the club will get money for hosting Sky and anyone who buys a subscription on the night?

    I believe that the Trophy matches are part of the EFL/Sky deal and that we do not get any extra for games shown on Sky Sports+, although I think previously there was a £10,000 TV fee for the semi-finals.

    We've effectively already been paid for it when we got the EFL payments at the start of the season as they come from broadcast revenue but we will get the money from anyone who buys a match pass through Bantams TV.

    I can't see Powell starting just yet unless we plan to give him 45 minutes as I think 60+ minutes might be a bit too much for him at this stage

    We are looking a little light in central defence with Byrne and Pennington both out, as will be Tilt I expect. Have we got any young lads ready for a bit of experience?

    I'd think even it is true Cook will possibly be introduced from the bench, he certainly wont be a starter.

    Agree, I posted in the Luton thread Cook was in front of me going into the main stand and I asked him when he thought he could be involved and he said he did not know, but the way he said it sounded like he felt he was ready but maybe the backroom medical team didn't.
