Actually it was the ‘ghostly apparition’ that ‘appeared’ before the Earl of Newcastle. Bradford was a staunch Parliamentarian town (Roundhead). Newcastle had apparently been rumoured to have considered putting Bradford to the sword, but after this incident reconsidered his position.
I know a little about this period of history (rather than @Ulysses S Grant@Ulysses S Grant ACW).

And believe it or not I wasn't around in those times, although I've been to Bolling Hall a few times in the past, not seen any ghosts though.

    Correct.

The Bus Station future is unknown. No one knows what exactly is wrong with it, what it will take to put it right and when it will be open, if it can ever be opened again. They have bought and knocked a car park down next door for £4.5m ironically to open up access to this shut bus station.

There is rumoured to be delays to this new market which has cost millions of pounds.

The tennant was supposed to be in One City park in June, all we know at the moment is they aren't and it's the company from across the road so it's just moment a business from one place to another without actually adding to the City Centre.

The road works in the City centre are now having an adverse effect on business, some businesses are saying their passing trade has all but dried up.

There is a huge silence over Bradford Live. All events there have been cancelled with no known opening date. NEC are rumoured to have pulled out and no one at the council is saying a word.

But Gaza, something the council can't influence is given a full motion by the actual council leader, no doubt to take up chunks of time to avoid the pressing questions listed above from being asked.

What a shitshow, Susan Hinchcliffe should have gone after Star Hobson's death, instead she ran a failed campaign to be mayor with the council leadership to fall back on and got a cushy job at the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to tie her over as the Transport Committee chair, you know the arm of the authority that has delegation over things like "The Interchange".

It's also a joke to see the massive TV screen in the City Park is off limits to watch England in the Euros where as over in Leeds, Millenium Square is an actual Fan Zone for the final this Sunday.

We really have people with shit for brains running this City.

You've worded it far better than I could have. The last paragraph really does underly how utterly useless the council is. In a city running a campaign ironically named city of culture, we have an international team based exactly on this principle that now has a chance to win a trophy for the first time in 60 years. Yet we have no coverage or purpose built set up in the city centre to potentially accommodate thousands of fans from different backgrounds. There'll be some lame excuse, they can't afford it etc, but they can afford next year easy enough and it seems more unspecified loans for the Odeon. My lad and his mates went to Halifax and I suspect a lot of fans with easy access to Leeds in places such as Shipley will have gone there.
We keep being reminded it's the 7th biggest city in the country yet it's run by folk not fit to run a bath.

The T&A reporting on the Springfield Monorail, or should that be the Leeds to Bradford Tram. The solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Getting to and from Leeds from Bradford isn't an issue. There are several buses and trains and this just seems a complete waste of time. Getting to and from Manchester without a car is a nightmare as is getting coast to coast. £2.5bn is just a complete waste of money.

Leeds is the biggest city in Europe without a massive transit system. For the city itself it needs a proper integrated.trqnspirt system if it's to move forward and expand like all major cities do. How they pay for it is another matter....

Feels like a step towards Bradford becoming a district of Leeds, I'm for it personally as that's about all our city is good for these days. Hopefully a bit of their success can trickle down. Trams are fantastic city transport I've been on them if different parts of the world and it is a must for a growing city.

As we were talking about the other day, never mind under Labour they will level the north up that Batley lass Tracy Brabin will sort it out.

Bradford needs to hang on to everything Leeds do and get in on it in any way feasible.

Pretty much everywhere i've been in Europe trams/trolley buses are an integral part of getting from A to B. Fact we used to have them in Leeds and Bradford shows how far we have regressed. I use the trams a fair bit if i'm over in Manchester and they work well.

YappApp has some extremely disturbing footage from Halifax Road last night where it appears a teenager has lost a leg (and is in a critical state) due to a hit and run incident where dashcam footage shows a car going north of 70mph past Tescos. It is truly horrendous footage and another reminder of the diabolical driving that goes on daily in the district that has never been stamped out.

I would hope that is the case if so. These drivers treating the streets like Silverstone and leaving someone for dead in the road on a zebra crossing next to Tesco's could so easily be literally anyone going about their day to day routine.
