Just commented on Doyle. Piss poor contribution today. How did he not get booked is beyond me. The constant petulance and moaning towards the referee was constant and damn right annoying

Someone on Twitter posted the stat that Doyle is in the top 3 players for goals per minute ratio in league 1 history. And this is my issue with Hopkin, Doyle is a goalscorer, not a lump of wood target man. Start using him like he should be and then maybe he won't look shite.

 

At the moment the choices between the strikers is akin to choosing whether to have white or brown bread in a dog sh*t sandwich.

 

Jones did ok for me when he came on; and I would start him on Tues v Coventry. Doyle is pretty hopeless as a "hold up striker" as you say constant moaning; petulant and frustrated out of the game. For all that I would start him Tues alongside Jones. I agree Kai is better at putting himself about; charging into tackles; bashing defenders about. He's not the greatest but in the target man role needed to deal with this long ball tactic DH is using he's all we have !

It was a bloody awful watch two poor teams of which we were the worst. There's not four worse teams to fill the relegation slots in this league so we will go down in May no doubt about it. Worry is we are not even a good League 2 team ! we would be struggling down there too. It will quite possibly all be academic come January and any recruitment will be too little too late.

I'm asking myself what on earth have they done in training this week ? Whatever it was it certainly didn't involve creating a "pattern of play" a structure of sorts ? to what we are supposed to be doing ?. We can't even make ourselves difficult to beat by one of the poorest Dale sides in recent times. We just look a bunch of strangers thrown together just snatching moments in the game and failing to get hold of the ball.

I find myself asking what positive could we make happen this week at the club (other than 3pts v Cov-which we won't get by the way ) but what could occur that might raise my optimism even slightly. SACK ABBOTT !

This week Rahic needs to show he wants to effect change and sacking Abbott would part tell me he wants to hold him accountable for the "player recruitment". I don't care if Rahic then agreed to getting this bunch of inepititudes in or not. Abbott above anyone else is responsible for this group of players and he needs to pay the price for it. Then we need a fresh face to work alongside Hopkin to new voice to revitalise the training ground. So we can take a positive step whatever the outcome of the Cov game and hand Abbott a P45 he definitely deserves !

By the way can the Mod change the thread title from Boyle to Doyle ? Or maybe it was Boyle we signed from Oldham because it's certainly not the goalscorer Doyle we were supposed to be getting is it ?
