Because we are going to need a manager who is going to take risks with players that are going to require time to bed in. Unless you were talking about this squad, in which case we would not have any manager, I may be wrong as I do not have the gift of foresight but I don’t think any manager can pick a team that can win out of this squad. They are done, nothing left, no confidence in either their own skills or the managers belief in them.

How on God's green earth is it the new managers fault? Yeah lets just sack him !

No matter who our next manager was he needed to be brought in after Hopkin left to give himself the chance to see (for himself) what would be required for the coming season.
We've had Collins, Abbott (caretaker), Hopkin, Drury (caretaker) and now Bowyer and none of them could get a tune out of this shower, I think most thought we were down before Hopkin left, I'm far from happy but he must be given a chance with his own squad.Bantam Blade likes this. -
Probably yeah ..so he steps out and we started winning why would you want him back ?. But realistically he's only got 8 more games two this season and six next to turn this completely around. I didn't want to be saying we should change again but he's done absolutely nothing but send us completely off a cliff since Rhodes appointed him. If he doesn't see us through he first six games at the top of League 2 even his greatest backers would have to accept he will need to go !

Having just watched that recent interview with Jamie Lawrence it makes you realise how little fight this team has, and has ever had.
Back in the 98/99 season we had a whole squad of fighters who had a never-say-die attitude. Now, we have nobody.
Hopefully, the summer will see us bringing in modern day versions of McCall, Jones, Windass, Jacobs, Lawrence, etc.
We don't need the best players we can get; we need players who will wear the shirt with pride and fight for 90 minutes to get a result.Bronco likes this. -

He knew all too well that even if he lost 10 in a row, which is now more than likely to happen. He would still get a nice contract. -

Only joking. -
Why on earth did we give a two year contract to a manager who has managed seven defeats on the bounce. Why not give him a target of wins first before deciding. The sheer incompetence of this football club never ceases to amaze me.

Didn't I say he should stand down from First Team Affairs two games ago? He's just wasting his time if his intention is to get beyond September next season! ?

I will tell you.
We would have your ilk on here shouting look what happens when bowyer is not in the dugout. -
I am still surprised that he has struggled to get at least a few points out of this bunch of players. Maybe they're not our best team ever (we all agree on that), but surely a really good man motivator should have been able to fire them up enough to at least get a few points on the board. -
We need to apply some level of competency otherwise we are dragged down to the lowest common denominator. We aim higher than that....surely?
